Changes/Cancel to ADR if reservation holder isn't the MDE account holder?

So far I've only made ADR reservations with me (the primary account holder on MDE) as the reservation holder.

If I make the reservation holder as someone other than myself, how does it work for changes or cancellation? Can I make those via my MDE? If not, how would the reservation holder make the changes or cancellation?
 
The account owner will be primary on the reservation. Only they can change or cancel the reservation.
 
Ok. What threw me off was that when you go to the screen to select the reservation guests, it asks first for the 'reservation contact'.. which doesn't have to be the account owner. And there's a statement that says "Only the Reservation Contact may cancel the reservation or update the dining party."
 
I have been having this issue.
My wife and I have one Disney account in her name.
A number of weeks ago I booked some ADRs using MDE and held them with my credit card.
Up until a few weeks ago I could make changes using the app.

Lately it tells me only the person who made the reservation (me) could make changes or cancel. Since we use her Disney account to access MDE it won't allow me to make those changes.

I will have to call instead I guess.

I tested it. Made the reservation with one of the profiles that's not the MDE primary as the 'reservation contact' (so the primary was not in the reservation at all). Even so, I was able to cancel it from the MDE.
 
I've had the opposite experience. I made a ressie for 2 people in our group of 7 and listed one of them as the primary contact for it. Now that I've found an alternate time for them, I can't change it, only the contact person can make that happen.
 
Does the person you made the contact for have an MDE? The ones I tried did not. (I also did the cancellation shortly after the reservation - maybe that had something to do with it)
