We ate dinner at WHispering Canyon on 10/27 and there have been several changes made since we ate there the end of May.... in May when we ate there with a large group, beverages and dessert were included with the all you can eat skillet dinner....no longer.

This time it was just DH and I. We lucked out and were seated in the back room right by the fireplace. It was great. We ordered the skillet. The server brought a nice sized bowl of salad which we really like....so we cleaned it up. We had ordered the fish, sirloin and ribs. When the platter arrived we both looked and busted out laughing. There was 1 chunk of ribs (2 ribs in the piece), there was 1 small piece of fish and 2 very thin small slices of the sirloin and about a tablespoon of veggies. There was also a decent sized bowl of mashed potatoes, 1 small piece of corn and a bowl of beans. The food was all really good. The server was really busy so it took her a long time to get back to us. We asked for more veggies, fish and sirloin. She eventually returned with another tablespoon of veggies, 1 more small piece of fish and 1 more small slice of sirloin. We cleaned that up but by the time she finally came back it just didn't seem worth the trouble to ask for more.

Dessert is no longer included with the skillet dinner so we ordered the cobbler. It was very tasty. Server said dessert was no longer included and changes were made to "the platter presentation" because of the "dining plan". She said most of their guests are on a dining plan so dessert is included for them. I suspect this is a case of changes made because of free dining. All in all the food was all very good and we certainly didn't feel like we over ate! But I also felt like it was grossly over priced for the portions provided. I did note that the family at the table next to us ordered off the menu and they had lovely looking meals...next time we will just order off the menu.

total for the 2 of us including tax and tip (with the TIW discount) came to $81

Thanks for the update. We loved the skillet last October but would hate to keep waiting for refills. We did find that the servings were more for two than the four of us but assumed that was to keep the wastage down. The dessert was disgusting though so on the DDP that would be preferable for us to choose dessert. Do you know if the milkshakes are still refillable?

Sorry I did not notice anything on the menu about Milshakes being refillable but I didn't ask either so they may be....not sure.
