Changed Land/Sea to Separate booking With BLT & Free Dining -Code RYH
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was on the fence about giving up my land/sea package because I received a 10% discount plus we were going to get a $200 OBC.
I priced it out and , low and behold, if I reduced my ticket options with the package from 4 days to 1 day each (we have some old hoppers), I could stay at the hotel of choice, which was the BLT (Bay lake Towers) Standard Studio at the Contempory Hotel, get free dining, and leave from the Polynesian to the port. Booking code RYH
Original Package Land/Sea $2360.96+paid dining plan $239.94=$2600.90
staying at POFQ with transfers & insurance
Cruise only with transfers and insurance cat 11 $1328.96
BLT with free dining and 1 day base tkts $1427.70
Total............................................. ... $2756.66
I realize this was not an economical way of getting what I wanted in the first place, but it will work for us. We also budgeted a rental car from the CCC with Alamo for $46.00 for a 2 day compact rental.. We will still get the $100 OBC from DCL, and will still be able to put the packages balance due on my Disney Visa to get the 0% financing.
Who knows, maybe I will change it again.
I know it would have been cheaper if we rented DVC points and paid for dining, but it is ok for this trip, we are celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary and I don't want to make my bed... just be romantic and have fun.
