Changed cruise - how do I transfer the Allianz trip insurance to the new cruise?

We were booked this summer but just changed the cruise to a new cruise before PIF. We had Allianz insurance for the old cruise. I understand I can transfer the insurance to the new cruise.
I cannot seem to do it online. I am currently on hold. Can I just email them?
Has anyone else had to do this? How did you modify the policy?

TIA!

When I use the comparison website to buy my insurance and changed it, I sent them an email. I had to send the new dates and price.

Oh wow, I didn’t know you could do that! Is this common? I just booked a cruise for next year as a backup plan (figuring my Alaska cruise this Aug will get canceled).

I don’t usually buy insurance till after I’ve PIF (yes, I give up having coverage preexisting conditions). I’m thinking of “splurging” on a “cancel any time” policy does the new cruise. I assumed I’d lose the money I paid for insurance if I end up canceling that cruise but it sounds like I should be able to put that money towards a new policy? I usually pick whatever looks best for my family from InsureMyTrip.com.

My policy is through Allianz. We Just got off the phone with them and yes, we can transfer the policy to our rescheduled cruise. They just need the information to update it.

great. Glad it worked out.

i had a cruise canceled in September 2017 because of hurricane Irma. You learn a lot of tips . I didn’t know this and someone told me. So I contacted the insurance company and had it moved.

Since you already have the 2021 cruise booked, I don't know if you can transfer the policy from the 2020 cruise (which hasn't yet been canceled). IF your Aug. 2020 cruise gets canceled by DCL, and you take the credit offered towards a new cruise, then I believe you may be eligible to also shift the insurance policy to the new cruise. (Just to note, as of right now you also will not be able to transfer a cancelled cruise credit towards an existing reservation.)

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks! Yeah, I figured that might be the case (can’t put a credit on an existing cruise)... we would only be able to cruise in summer again so if this Aug is canceled, I figured it’d be better to book next Aug before it’s snatched up by all the other re-bookers. Still really hoping we’re not canceled this year but I’m losing hope by the minute!
