Change!

I am headed to WDW in 8 days, and I finally counted the change in my change bucket. The total is.......drum roll please....... 780.00!!!!! And I didn't roll the pennies, I will take those to a change machine. I knew there was a lot, but WOW!! I'm super impressed!

I just cashed in mine today. I only had $280. I have a long way to go.

But I have $1050 (I think) in *free* Disney gift cards thru rewards sites and the Disney visa (currently at $340). Another $450 to go and then I know for sure our food money is all set.

I use credit it cards (for points/miles) for everything I can. I have had the same $20 bill in my wallet for ever. I have to admit, I miss the excitement of cashing in my vacation change!!

That's great! Congrats! I also rarely use cash, but I do collect any more we find and put it into my kids' saving accounts. Really adds up, but I find a lot. Today was .34 cents, but my son found $5 last week.

DS wanted a bit of pocket money last week so I offered him a drinking glass full of change that we had sitting around in exchange for doing a few chores. He took it to a Coinstar and was delighted to come out with over $30 - 1/2 of which was pennies. I love how fast change adds up!

I have a really big change jar. It's a plastic one made to look like a coke bottle. And yes, I use other methods for saving for Disney, but I still love counting and rolling my change. We seem to have a lot of it around the house and in the cars, so it's an easy way to save for us.
