Does anyone know if it is possible to change the number of people in our party for an ADR without losing the reservation? We would be going from a party of 5 to a party of 2.

We have a trip during free dining planned with some other family. We are eating a couple meals together and I hold some of the reservations. My family may not be able to make the trip due to some financial hardship.:sad1: I don't want to leave the other family members in a lurch scrambling and trying to make new ADRs. I thought I could just call and say instead of 5 there would be 2.

I really don't want to mess up their trip. We agonized over these ressies and it is my brother and sister-in-laws belated honeymoon.

I suggest that you try to make an ADR for two. If you can, then cancel the other. If not, keep your present ADR and just explain when you arrive that three in your party cancelled. Good luck!!

Don't cancel yours unitl you get the one with 2. You cannot just change the number.

Yup, that's exactly what I would do

I am not for sure, but if you show up with less, I dont see where it would be a problem, I could see if it was more. Ex If you had made the ressie for 5 and show up with 2 and maybe the others were not feeling well that day and only 2 could of made it while you were at WDW what would happen in that case??? Just wondering?????, If it were me I would call and try to rebook them and the ones that are avail I would take and the other's I would show up, When you arrive to the ressie I dont think that the CM will tell you to go and get the 3 other people or you wont be able to eat, I guess it is my 2 cent, it may not be worth anything but oh well just putting my input in!!!!

A couple backed out of vacation with us so I called and the CM changed our reservations. There were only two restuarants and she just adjusted the number. I thought since we were getting smaller that would give them more room so it didn't seem to be a big problem.

The CM's told me that if you are booked at a table that takes parties of either the size you had or the size you are going to then they just change the number (going from 6 to 5 for example) but if your change will cause a different size table they need to cancel and rebook you at a different table. Going from 5 to 2 will most definately be different sized tables. If there is no availability for 2 then youll just have to wait and let them know when you checkin as I'm sure you don't want to lose your reservations.

I had this issue exactly a few days ago. I had ressies for four at Spoodles and it turned out that day would only be dd and I.
When I called I did indeed have to cancel the first reservation and ended up with a reservation for two about 15 minutes earlier which is no big deal.
I didn't want to keep the reservation as was in my case because by cancelling it freed up a table for four.. which can be hard to come by at a decent time during free dining.
In your case I am going to go out on a limb and say I really think it will be much easier to find a table for two than it would be for a bigger number. i think they will be ok.

Thanks everyone. I'll try to call and change. I am pretty sure if they have to rebook it would not work out as one is Le Celier during free dining. :sad2:

I'll just hope for the best!
