Hey Gang...

Just wanted to let everyone know that my DH made reservations for the Fantasmic reserved seating (with dessert box and all that) and they told him that check in time is 8pm. Of course I assumed he got it wrong because everyone on the Dis said to check in by 7 (lining up at 6:15) :bitelip: So he called back and Disney confirmed that check in time is now 8pm and NOT 7pm.

Just thought I'd share my new found info.

I was wondering about that too. That is what I was told for this Saturday. Has anyone done this recently with info??????

Well-- 8 p.m. makes a lot more sense to me--it was a pain to go there at 7 p.m. and then go away and come back at 9 p.m. This way, check in at 8, do things in NOS/Critter Country and then you are right there to get seated in time for the 9 p.m. show (you want to be there somewhat early anyway to enjoy your goodies and drinks!)

Just a heads up...that is what we were told last year but when I went to check-in at 8:00pm sharp, there were already 5 families listed on the sign-up sheet. It may not hurt to swing by a little earlier in case the CM's begin taking names sooner...

When I made reservations on Saturday they told me 7pm. I would just double check with them when you pick up your tickets for the show. I will be picking up my tickets first thing when arriving at Disneyland.

Good to know.. I will make sure to confirm what time also

Thanks for the heads up.

That's the problem with Fantasmic, if you don't check in very early you don't get the front row which in my opinion is the only decent spot to watch the show. I'm not the comando type and have a problem with showing up 2 hours early for a limited amount of good seats. We've done the balcony once and Riverside twice and if you have small children it's awful hard to get a great view from the back rows. I had a better view of F just walking back from Splash Mtn. the night after we had Riverside seating. Just my opinion.

When we picked up our tickets for last Friday's 9:00 show, it was printed on the tickets to check in at 8. The CM at Guest Services said that it was the first time she had seen that and to be there at 7.

Sure enough, check-in was at 7. I would have been so cheesed-off if we had trusted what the ticket said.

I agree.. and why cant they just have you check in at 8 of whatever and have you already assigned certain seats. I am glad to hear that they have changed the time though. That was alot of wasted to for us on our trip in December.

Hmmmm.....do you think they are trying to stagger the check-in? Printing a 7 p.m. check-in time on some tickets and 8 p.m. on others? Perhaps this is based on your order of booking?

Hmmm... dunno. I booked ours on the 30 day-out date, first thing when the phones opened up.

ETA: when I booked, the CM told me check-in was 7 p.m.

I agree..in fact when we did it we had heard somewhere that seats were assigned in the order they were sold..WRONG..

I have tickets for June 8th and I am worried about the lack of consensus on when to check in. I booked the tickets in order to minimize waiting time - now it looks like I may have to line up at 7 (just in case) and maybe again at 8 if the early check-in time truly has changed. :(

Ok, confusing! thanks for the research and keep those first hand experiences coming please! Would like to know if this new info starts to get set in stone soon, or if it's still going to be a case of "here's what reservations say, but here's what you really do." It doesn't seem real consistent all the time! I kept hearing that you should show up by 6:15 or even earlier and you might be able to check in early, (this was in March) but they didn't start check in until the stroke of 7 p.m. when I was there.

I'd like to do F! again in October.

We had tickets for last Friday too and our tickets said checkin at 8, but we were there at 6:45 and the cast members know nothing about the time change. The checked us in at 7pm, we were 3rd to check in for the 9pm show.

Barngro, I'd like to hear more about this better view! I don't suppose there was anywhere to stop and just watch when you were walking??
