Change time in Newark?

United has just changed our March flights. We now have a 50 minute layover in Newark. It's not a huge change, but we originally had an hour; I hesitate to purchase any fare with less than an hour layover. Is this enough time to make the change?

as long as you are not changing terminals in the connection, it is more than enough time in EWR. the other question is, are you going in a season where delays are likely (like now) which could affect the inbound but not the outbound (such at delays at your origin airport).

assuming EWR is the only timing, 50 minutes (even 35) is more than enough. if I was 45 or less, I would consider moving closer to the front of the plane to get off quicker. remember, the plane you are going to boards 30 minutes before takeoff, so at 50 minutes you really have 20 minutes to get off your plane, get to the other gate and get in line. Still, in EWR, without a terminal change, that's a lot of time.

Are you flying out of Portland? The flights from PWM to EWR often, but not always land at different terminal than the large planes. There is a bus that connects the two. The smaller terminal is round and small and no gate is far from the bus. The problem could be at the other terminal where it can be a very long walk to some gates.

That said, I have booked flights with a 55 minute connection next Nov. I plan to pay for an upgraded seat so that I will be close to the front of the plane (in the MCO to EWR segment.)

Make sure you know where you are going and you should be ok, if everything is on time.
