Change storeroom or not?

Our last cruise was in an ocean view room on deck 2 on the Dream and we really liked the room. I had considered an inside room higher up too, but after the cruise I decided I was glad we went with what we did. Its a nice little area there, sort of secluded and quiet, and then you are very close to Enchanted Garden for when you have dinner there (we ate there twice so it worked well).

We loveee deck 2 midship. Would never stay up top! So close to all of the action minus the crazy pool deck. We love relying on the stairs for shows etc without waiting in line for an elevator. My kids love sitting in the porthole. Definitely recommend two. A lot less feeling of motion on 2 also!
Deck 2 is our favorite location also. Love the more quiet (away from the traffic patterns) passageway. And it's so much easier to get that elevator. Don't have to wait for elevators when everyone is returning to the ship after a day in port, just walk up one deck and there we are.

We don't find the motion on deck 2 any more unpredictable/rougher than on deck 9 or 10. Pretty much if there's motion felt in one spot on a ship, it's going to be felt all over the ship.

Thanks--corrected autocorrect lol! Less than $100 difference. Any opinions on deck preferences?

I have never stayed in an inside -- prefer a view whether it be oceanview or balcony. Location is up to your preference. They say that if you are prone to seasickness, mid ship and mid height are best. We prefer aft - around decks 7-10.

Motion is far worse the lower you are. The closer you are to something the greater reaction that's science. So the closer to the sea, the closer to the engines, the closer to the thrusters, the greater effect. Lower decks get " random" movements that are unpredictable, whilst further away higher up there ironed out to a gentle sway.

I am not sure about the science. My understanding of physics would lead me to conclude there is less motion on the lower decks. The whole ship is traveling at the same speed from the thrusters, so I don't understand how the effect could be greater closer to the thrusters, except noise or vibration (not movement). I would conclude that, for example, when there is swaying from side to side, the higher decks necessarily move farther due to the greater distance from the center of movement. Like how if you wave your hand, it travels a much greater distance than the part of your arm closest to your elbow. If you google topics related to locations on a ship best for motion sickness or whether higher decks move more, literally every one of the links says that the lower you are, the less motion you will feel.

This is what I was always told -- lower to the water and midship are the best locations, followed by midship and mid high. Every time I have booked, regardless of the cruise line, they have always said the higher you go the more you will feel the ship move :confused3
