So since the pool in CSR will be closed along with the outside park and arcade, these were the amenities that made us want to book there. Would it make sense to get my TA working on a deal at a different resort either a Deluxe with a deal (if possible) or change to Pop and save money? Or so y'all think we will be just as happy at CSR?

If you booked specifically for those, I would change. I have not heard of anyone getting a deal on alternative arrangements though.

If the reason that you booked CSR is no longer going to be available for your use, then change resorts. If you cannot get a Deluxe Resort for a reasonable price, then go with a Value Resort and save yourself some money. Disney vacations are too expensive to settle for less than an ideal resort situation.

I have seen people mention a few deals, I think it depends. Perhaps I should just do Pop and save money. Would we regret this...is Pop a good experience?

No one has a crystal ball. Lots of people love POP. Some people would never downgrade from a Moderate to stay there. It's all subjective. I suggest that you take a look at the thread Pop Century Room Renovations to see what the latest changes look like and how far they have gotten with the project.

Check the rehab schedule. Then work with your agent for any deals. Leave it wide open. See what they come up with regarding time, room options and pricing. Then start to apply your criteria...you might discover something you would not have found if you say look only at this resort or that one. One year we booked and the pool went into rehab...we moved...it patially defines the resort, especially if you have kids.

Yes totally not looking for someone to give me a prediction just advice if they have stayed at the mentioned resorts. Will check out the suggested thread, thanks!

Good idea, I think my TA is lazy and always needs a push. Won't use her again! Too many wonderful ones out their invested in giving good service. I have some time, I was just wanting to start researching and getting opinions before I make a move on advocating myself! Yes in CSR I think the pool/dig site is a big draw for my son~!

I would switch too, do some research and see what appeals most and where you can get the price you are happy with.

We were also booked at CSR for September. When we got the email about the pool closure, I called my TA to discuss it with her and find out what our options were. We need the pool, playground and the arcade for our boys to have downtime, so losing all of that was a deal breaker! All I really wanted was to have something comparable without losing free dining. I was willing to pay a little more depending on where they could move us. She called Disney and they were willing to move us to POFQ without any extra expense. I was thrilled! I would contact your TA as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the less availability there will be.
