Change resort after may 18th?

I posted this in another thread but figured Id ask in its own thread. Just for my inquiring mind, how long can you change your resort? Does it have to be before the promotion is over? Before your 45 day window? Example say I decided to upgrade from POR to WL with FD promo but its after May 18 (thats the last day for booking this promo I think ) but before july 11(my 45 day mark) is this still possible if the rooms are available?I know I can change the resort but will I lose the FD? TIA

Nevermind I got my answer by calling disney. In case anyone is wondering, once you book it you can switch it up until the 45 day mark without issue as long as the other resort has availability for the promo. After the 45 day mark it will cost you $50 to change unless there is no change in the package total then they will not charge you any fee. I THINK he said the final cut off was 14 days out.

That statement is the key to the whole thing. You can only switch if there are rooms available at the new resort you want that were earmarked for the promo. So in theory, if the resort you want to switch to only had two rooms earmarked as available to be booked on the superduperdiscount and they are booked, but there are rooms available you cannot switch. Now can Disney override that and book you into the room? Probably. Will they? who knows....
