Oh my really hard to explain. To me it was like a run down city. It was very slow paced and laid back. Housing in places were so old and people living in them. Yards we so full of stuff. I could tell you a story that would give you a clue of how life is lived....

I know my son's not a big fan of the town of Altus, That's why he and his wife head over to Lawton a lot or just hang on the base where they live.

My DH's family lives there. At least his dad finally moved to better part in Sand Springs in a newer home. When we were there they would not give me a tour of the old house. Not sure how to take that.
