Labour day weekend was celebrated in the state of New South Wales. I live in the state of Victoria - our labour day weekend is in March. No public holiday here. Our next public holiday in Victoria is for......a horse race.....Melbourne Cup Day is the 1st Tuesday in November. No other state in Australia will be celebrating that day.

The Queen's Birthday? That's in June for most states.....I think either Western Australia or South Australia celebrates the Queen's Birthday last weekend.

Do you in the US have different public holidays in different states?

Hi! It's good to be here with you, Princess! Belle is having many problems, and I'm waiting for the vet's office to open. It's been suggested that her hormones, thyroid functions and others are off. I'm at wit's end.

Hi Bobbi. Was hoping to catch you. That's really too bad about Belle and I hope the vet can help out. Do you think it might be psychological or physiological?

At this point I do think it's physiological. Her system was thrown for a loop when she was spayed at 7 1/2 years in February. She has bonded with us, I do not think this is due to ablility or stress.

Well, I was just going off of my New Yorker cartoon-a-day calendar...

All our holidays are federally mandated and therefore apply to all 50 states. Our next federal holiday is Monday for Columbus Day.
