Change of plans...from 10 to 9

Just booked our family trip to WDW......so excited... we havent been since around 2004...and have never stayed in the park in our previous 8 trips.
This family trip will now include 2 grandchildren...whoo hoo...
It will be me and DH, DS and DIL and 2 1/2 year old grandaughter (this will be her 3rd trip)...(my oldest son is disney crazy)..my middle son, wife and 1 1/2 grandson (his first trip) and my yougest son and his GF.
First off let me say that my husband is WEnot the Disney fan that we are...i know (gasp)....so it took some convincing...but we finally broke him
down...lol...
So on sunday we booked our trip...8 days 7 nites...
DH and I will be staying at Beach club, the 3 sons and family at Coronado Springs....got the free dining plan offer..so now the crasy planning begins...i will be pouring over these boards for tips and advice so thank you all in advance...this is the reason for our trip....

just discoverd this site....so now i am pouring over all the many boards...is there a posting that lets you know the abreviations that you all are using...a little confusing for a newbie....
i have posted many trip reports for cruises and other vacation spots ...but first time for disney...thanks

Welcome to the disboards. Where you can lose countless hours. It is a wonderful addicting place. I don't know if there is a place to find all the abbreviations, if you find it let me know. I have just picked it up from reading way too many trip reports. But don't let it bother you, your plans sound great so far. I can't wait to hear more . I'd love to hear more about the Beach Club(BC). I hope to stay there for the pool someday. I have stayed at the Coronado (CSR). The pool there was great.

thanks.....very excited to be going with our 2 little ones...DH...not so much..lol as I said before...DH not a big fan of Disney....again (gasp)

8 of us arrive on wednesday morning and my youngest son and GF arrive Wed. night....so now the dilemma.....my thought is....No MK first day...wait until Thursday when we will all go together...not going over to well ...but I think that is a must...we can go to AK that first day...

well "houston" I mean "Disney" we may have a problem...we jsut realized that we messed up our ADR....my DS called to find out which nite was the fantasmic show, and the person at disney told him the wrong nite...and now we are trying to switch are times and nites....a glitch allready...ugh....
we have been going crazy trying to get this done....its hard getting ADR for 10 people.....

Wow, this is getting very frustrating...trying to find ADR for 10 people...we are having a hard time....but I am determined...will keep trying...any suggestions from others about ADR for a larger group??/

Welcome to the disboards! This site right here is one of the happiest on the internet.

Your ADRs sound great. I need to make a Coral Reef reservation for our Nov trip! I don't know that much on the topic, but I know there are 'Grand Gathering' events for over 8 people, but they can be pricey. Good luck finding restaurants for 10, I'm sure someone else will have advice for you!

ADRs for large groups can be tough...we made 2 seperate reservations for our group, one for one half and one for the other. We always arrived a little early and asked if we could be seated together and they were able to accomadate us. I would hope they would be able to do that for you, especially since you're going during a slower time of year.

will have to try it that way...there will be 10 of us for for 4 nites..then 8 for the rest....back to the drawing boards....

well we have been sitting here trying to decide if we should upgrade the dining plan....(sort of takes the fun out of free dining)...but wondering if we will need or use it all....we want to do at least 3 character breakfast and supper...
our other thought is to not use the TS for the character breakfast, pay for those and save them for the dinners....what to do ...what to do...

still trying everyday to get the RT...no luck....la celleir is another one...will keep trying...you never know....

we pre-ordered the photo cd last nite...savings of $50.00...every little bit helps....

In my opinion, the dining plan would be worth it for you guys! I'm not sure if it would have openings either, but Yachtman's Steak house has similar menu items to Le Cellier. Just a thought...

thanks, I actually made ADR at the yachtman's, but am still trying for Le Cellier....would love to take grandaughter#1 to cinderellas castle....no luck still.....

Son#1...says to me...you better start using the elptical machine to get your legs in Disney shape....lol...to funny...seeing that we are going with 2 toddlers and his DW who will be 6 months along at that time....wont be much racing around like he would like....lol

I would get something to bring with you, you'd be very sad if they didn't have a costume left in all of your sizes. He won't be doing much racing around with 2 toddlers and a 6 month pregnant lady!!
