Hi,
Because I lost my rational mind before I pack...I have six year old twin girls. Of course, they are in the first grade and solidly potty trained...as i ponder packing for our trip, would anyone pack an entire change of clothes for each of them to bring to the park....keep also in mind that i'm not someone who runs to change their children if they get a little wet by the spitting camel...i have faith in the strong florida sun...i'm just a just incase kind of gal that wants to keep her nuttiness in check :rotfl2:
TIA

I might bring one change of clothes, assuming they're the same size... I mean, even if something happens, what are the chances that BOTH of them need a change?

My 3 youngest wear the same size, so I just brought a pair of sweatpants (which ds4 did need).

I took spares for the baby (19months) and just shorts for Ds5 (who has dyspraxia and ASD and occasionally pees on himself when distracted by the chaos/noise of public bathrooms. That being said I only needed them once in 2 weeks. I didn't take anything for DD4 nor would I have for DD11 after aroun d age 4/5 either.

I don't think it is necessary at that age. But only you know how messy your kids tend to be. If you want to play it safe, the idea of taking one outfit is good. you could even consider bringing what one wore the day before (if it wasn't too dirty), it is just for an emergency. solid colored or denim shorts/pants are great because you can match them up with just about any top. Or if worse came to worse, buy a tee or outfit in the park, you are probably going to buy something anyway.

I had planned to take a change of clothes (at least for my youngest) into the parks. I wound up not taking any and left quite alot of other things I thought I "needed" back at the room too after the first day or so. We were only in the parks for a few hours at a time (went back to the hotel late morning) and DH convinced me that if something happened that the kids really needed a change of clothes, we would probably just want to go back to the room and come back to the park later. At 6 I can't really imagine what would necessitate a change of clothes (a little ice cream on their shirts?).

I packed an entire van completely full (even took out one of the middle seats) and honestly, we didn't need half the stuff we brought. I've learned that next time I won't spend months obsessing over every possible item we "might" need. Relax and enjoy your trip. :upsidedow

I wouldn't pack spare clothes at that age. If they get really dirty, it's a good excuse to buy a new Disney outfit at a gift shop!;)

Even with my boys at 13 and 10, I still bring a large, empty ziplock bag. That way if we do end up buying a new t-shirt, I have somewhere to keep the yucky one until we can wash it.

I am bringing a spare shirt for my DD7. She is a messy eater, and I don't want to have dirty shirts in all of our pictures.

Hi there,

I have twins as well - though mine are 7 nearly 8.

We first went to WDW when they were 4. We always take a change of clothes with us each day, as if there is a chance for my two to get wet, they WILL take it! And by wet I mean soaked and by soaked I mean drenched!

By change of clothes though I just mean pair of shorts/t shirt/underwear. It doesn't take up much space in the bag and doesn't weigh much at all.

We generally stay at the parks most of the day and then go direct to dinner, so it means they aren't hanging about in wet/dirty clothes ALL day. And they look presentable in photos!

Yes, I would bring the both a spare change of clothes just in case. We did for my DD(6). She likes to play in the fountains and get soaking wet to cool off. There were times she was still wet when we had an ADR and the restaurants are freezing so the change of clothes came in handy. Plus, the pics look better too. Throw them in a freezer / ziplock bag. It does not take up much space in a backpack.

ETA - You might want to bring one on the plane too. I did not and DD spilled her entire drink on her lap and had to sit in wet pants for the entire plane ride.

I would bring a change of clothes if my day involved lots of water, like the Kali Rapids ride, or if my kids were planning on playing in the water at Epcot. My girls will get miserable if they are too wet. Camel spit or water from the Star Wars thing is fine, but a drenching is not fine.

I'll be taking an extra shirt for DD5, and a pair of sandals for water rides and playing in the fountains.

NO NO NO - why carry more than you have to. With 2 princess: princess: 6 year old you should finally be able to enjoy going to the parks "light" with no little kids supplies - enjoy your trip.

I have taken ages 3, 5, 6, and 8. The only incident was DD3 needed a new pair of panties under her dress when she got the runs once. (Bless the pregnant lady who let us cut the bathroom line)

I did have a change for her, but they do sell undies in the stores too! At 6 I would probably take the risk of not carrying extras.

Well, normally I would say don't bother, but when we go next time I definitely will take extras for both my boys. During our trip last year my then-6yo had an accident! I cannot remember the last time THAT happened - and it hasn't happened since, either. I was SO THANKFUL I had brought a change of clothes for him. :thumbsup2

No. We went last month with my DS-6 and DD-18 months. I did pack a change of clothes every day for my DD and brought them to the park, and still never had to use them until we took our break for the day, and that was just because I had them. I packed in our suitcase a few extra sets of clothes for my DS, but I never took them to the park, and only used them a couple of times on our breaks, just because we had them. I don't think there's anyway I'd lug around 2 extra sets of clothes to the parks for 6 year olds.

Would I bring a change. You bet. My DH got soaked the first hour at splash mtn. Water spurted out of a side fountain and he was soaked. On another note, a bird pooped all over our dh. So twice in 6 days we needed a change.

I took a change of clothes for DS in August, he's 5 and completely potty trained. I never had to use them, but it was piece of mind for the "just in case" moment. The other thing we did, which worked out fabulously, was to take his pj's with us if it was a planned late night. When we were ready to leave either DH or I would take him into the restroom and change him into his pj's. This way, when he fell asleep on the bus we would just carry him to the room and tuck him right into bed:thumbsup2
