I have been advised to take a change of clothes, towel and dry shoes to leave in a locker inside the entrance to SW so that I can change after riding Atlantis. I am going in early Oct. Do you think this is necessary. Would I be best riding early or later in the day?

Hi there,

I have not been to Sea World in Orlando but I can tell you that we rode Atlantis in San Diego and my daughter got VERY wet, like have a bath in your clothes, wet. She was very uncomfortable afterwards!!!

Hope that helps

I've rode both, the one in San Diego and the one in Orlando. You get more wet at the one in Orlando.

If you sit in the front row, most definitely. The more you sit towards the back, the less wet you get it seemed like. We usually wear Dri-Fit clothes and are usually dry within an hour or so. Especially on a hot day. We went last year and getting wet felt good. Helped to really cool us down.

You can always ride Manta and Kraken after and use them as a blow-dryer. :rolleyes1

That's a good idea.............never thought of that!! :laundy:

I rode this on our last trip to sea world in 2004 and got like a little sprinkle each time (rode a few times). Has the ride changed?

I would think that in early Oct. you would be OK as long as you wear clothes that dry fairly quickly. We didn't bother with a change in Aug. If the weather is unseasonably cool, then you may want to think about bringing a change. IME, we did get a bit wet, particularly when sitting in the front. Although, none of us got Kali River Rapids Wet. The one thing that I wish I had done was brought some flip flops with me to wear on the ride. My socks got wet and that is really uncomfortable on the feet!

I usually don't get completely soaked on Atlantis... and it's still relatively warm in October... but it really depends on how uncomfortable you are if you did get wet. I wear running shorts/pants and a t-shirt to the park, so I'm dry after an hour. If you are going to wear jeans or anything that's very uncomfortable when wet, I'd take some extra clothes or wear a poncho on the ride! If you do take extra clothes, you should sit in the front row of the Shamu show too, lol. That's definitely an experience!

We rode Atlantis 3 times on 8/15 and did not get very wet any of the times. In fact, I was suprised by how little we actually got wet considering how big the splash is. We didnt get hit by any of the cannons any of the rides so maybe that's why but we stayed relatively dry.
