I just checked my current booking for Oct 2005 and noticed that there was a $1.56 increase in the rate from when it was originally booked. I know $1.56 is a miniscule amount, but was just wondering why the change. Could it possibly be an increase in port charges?
Just wondering before I check directly with Disney. Don't want to check my ressie someday and find it jumped a couple of hundred dollars.

This happened to us on our May sailing on Magic. It was due to the port charges in Grand Cayman increasing from the time we originally booked.

We got a letter from DCL explaining the cost difference as well.

I'ts probably a port charge increase. We had one on our last cruise.

DCL won't "eat" the increase in port charges - they'll always pass that cost onto you. If the port charges ever decrease (yea, right, a government entity reducing fees:smooth: not in my lifetime) DCL will credit you the decrease. And during your cruise, if you miss a port, DCL will refund your port fees for that port. Remember, they own Castaway Cay and if they don't dock there there's nothing to refund.

I was talking to Dana yesterday and she told me that disney had a tax increase last week and that is why. Ours went up to $3.12 and our TA paid it.
