Change in EE policy?

Multiple EE's for resort guests were always unofficial so I'm not surprised that there might be some confusion when calling.

Since you have to show your hotel charge slip for the extra EEs (they are not on the park hopper) I don't see how they could care how the hotel was booked.

I will be down there in 11 days:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: ...i'll post back on my experiences.

Thanks spaceace510! :) Look forward to hearing what you discover.

No worries, Hound. The majority of the Ladies are staying at the HoJo. We got the most excellent ent. rate, of course! ;)

Yeah, but if i remember correctly.... a certain wise Mouse mentioned (when I was going last time)......that for every DLR room receipt, that a total of SIX people could piggy back into MM on the room receipt.

Not that anyone staying at HOJO would ever try to piggy back with a PP or GCH guest. :rolleyes1

:lmao:

Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if one of the Ladies was splurging on a resort property? But no, we have mean miser dh's back at home who insist on frugality. :rolleyes1 So no MM for any of us. :headache: Salright though, this trip (at least for me) isn't gonna be about the rides. It's about relaxing at DLR. Something I have never, ever done before. ;)

I'm just glad I'm going back:cool1: We might not have EE/MM but we will still have summer hours so we can stay late:thumbsup2

Ok, now that I see that Darkbeer is the person who is posting this information on MousePlanet I am taking it much more seriously. I take most of his information as Disney truth, so I'm waiting for AVP and other bigwigs over there to confirm it.

Here is his post from MP:

The following rules are if you are making a reservation directly with the hotel, and not buying a package.

The cancellation period is now a 5 days notice (the prior policy was 3 days).

A charge is placed on your credit card for the first night when you make the reservation, and that it might take up to 6 weeks to get a refund if you cancel prior to the 5 days of your scheduled arrival.

And that Hotel Guests no longer get "automatic" entry to Magic Mornings (used to be called Early Entry), now you must buy ParkHoppers from the Hotel front desk or as part of a travel package. Prior to this, Annual Passholders or folks that had other types of discounted tickets (such as military tickets) could enter on Magic Mornings. (Aka, your room charge slip will no longer allow you entrance to Magic Mornings, only a marked ParkHopper will get you in).

But there is a "fix" for the short term, as some folks were told the old policy when making their reservation. When you check in, ask the CM for a special "Magic Morning" pass if you need one. This will allow you into the park early. They will only issue one "pass" per person scheduled to stay in the room. Not sure how long they will do this, but Disney does understand that some folks who have already made reservations had this "perk" in mind

If it is true, I wonder if then those of us who bought packages will only get the one day of MM included with the 3 or more day Parkhoppers? It sounds like the hotel might not give out any type of slip anymore, and we would just use the parkhoppers to get the MM? Or is it just the room-only reservations that would no longer get the slip at check-in?

I just got off of the phone with the front desk at the Disneyland Hotel, and she checked -- she was able to verify that guests staying at the hotel can take advantage of Magic Morning each day it's offered.

Oh Mary Jo I so hope that will still be the case in August. We are DVC members and are using points to stay on site ONLY for the MM days. Otherwise we would have saved our points and stayed at a cheaper good neighbor hotel.....Can't trade the points back now though...

I agree with DM. Darkbeer is a very reliable source. I would be surprised if he got this wrong.

Guess we will find out the real story in time.

Wow this subject is getting so much attention. I really don't know what to believe at this point. From people confirming from these past couple weeks to a very reliable source (Darkbeer) I am so confused.

One thing that really confuses me is that Darkbeer states that only people who buy tickets from the front desk or a package. Does that mean that they are going to stop offering the 1 MM for all 3+ park hoppers (except package and front desk tickets)? :confused3 So MM will become an onsite only perk?

Man this would so wreck my amazing MM super thread :rotfl2:

Just a quick update, I was reading on MC (yes MC, my favorite  ) one of the members works at the PPH and was not aware of any change in MM policy. Now I'm starting to believe it was an inexperienced/not knowledgable CM that gave out this info.

No, the way Darkbeer explains it, MM's would still be a 1 time perk for those with 3+ day hoppers (or a 2 time perk if you go through getaway). For those who purchase their hoppers through a WDTC package and stay on-site or purchase hoppers at one of the three on-site properties, they come encoded with a special multiple MM privilege on them.

What I wonder is this: what would prevent me from walking into the GCH and up to the front desk and purchasing a parkhopper with multiple MM's on it even if I'm not staying there? I know that non-guests can purchase tickets from the resort hotels currently, and save money instead of purchasing at the ticket booths. Would they confirm somehow that I am a guest there?

So many questions . . . and as Hydro said, only time is going to sort all this out.

Oh, gotcha. That makes more sense. But your strategy sounds good too.

My DH talked to a coworker that just came back a few weeks ago. They stayed a week at the DLH and got to enjoy all the MM days. So if this is true, it must have just changed!

I'm confused for sure, guess time will tell!

Did DH's co-worker have an AP?

It just seems wrong to me that they would start discriminating against APs staying on site. It should either be a perk for on site guests or not, but to deliberately cut AP's out seems so, so wrong.

Why would you be suprised? Disney has stopped every other perk over the years. If it is costing them too much money they will stop it!

I'm not sure this strategy would work, unless it was one of those "depends on who waits on you" practice.

I tried to buy park hoppers at the DL Hotel, and they wouldn't sell them to me. I had to go to the ticket booths. (I was getting tix for someone else, and happened to be at the DL Hotel).

Looks like he was wrong. The MP administrators have updated the thread and say that an official spokenperson has stated there is no change to the policy.
