Change in CRT menu?

I actually liked the meal better than before. We had a WONDERFUL meal here and we are very excited to go back. Any who wants to see some of the selections go to the September 2010 Disney Food link on my signature there are some pictures there of CRT. :)

Loved the pictures! Can you tell me a little about the dessert sampler? What is all in it?

We always overreact to changes at first on this board. Let's wait a bit and read some reviews of the new menu before judging it a failure. Actually, the fried chicken and cobia look delicious!

I think the real issue is that this is yet another case where the items being offered are of less value than the old menu, not that they arent good. Roast Beef=cheaper than steak, same for the pork chop. Fried Chicken=cheaper than duck, Cobia=cheaper than Salmon (takes about 1/3 less time to raise).

I guess I fail to see where the worth in the food is for two credits. Its not just here though...

Totally agree...not worth 2 credits at all.

Also, All Ears is notoriously incorrect for so many restaurants. I stopped using that site ever since Disney's site came up with menus. Now, Disney doesn't post kids' menus, and certain restaurants are left out, so once in a blue moon, I have to check All Ears, but hardly ever. I have emailed them many times to make changes or corrections, and they don't seem to do that either.

The Disney site, as of late, has been updating menus way more often. At the bottom left hand of each menu is a series of numbers, and the last set of numbers is the month and year of that menu. CRT menu was just updated in August, according to the menu posted on Disney's site.

Hope this helps, Tiger :)

The Disney website is refusing to download the lunch menu for my old computer - can anyone do me a big favor and post it here?

Thanks

I was looking for a dining review that had the new menu and found this one... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2548483&page=2. Post 20 has photos of the new pork chop, which she enjoyed. HTH!

well that explains it ! :thumbsup2 we ate there on the 21st before MNSSHP. They had all the new stuff on the menu, but it was all printed on a Halloween Menu. ( we thought they changed it for the party).
We were kind of bummed about the prime rib being gone, but the tenderloin was fantastic (I got that). My DH had the rock shrimp appetizer (I really could have stolen it from him, it was THAT good). He also got the pork chop which he thought was too dry. (next time he'll get the tenderloin he said).

The dessert trio was SOOOOOO good !!! I totally reccommend that. But all in all, the new menu was great. :goodvibes

IMO - no it wasn't worth 2 credits.

I had the tenderloin it was ok - not great - just ok - the tenderloin from Park fair had more flavor (the prime rib is gone from there too when we went this time)

My daughters mahi mahi tasted better than the beef IMO

DH said the pork chop was really dry and over cooked

the brulee is not brulee - it's more flan like - DH had the sorbet - it was pretty good

beef barley soup was hands down the best thing that night -

We are going back to WDW next Sept and CRT won't be on our list - we may try it again in a few years but it'll be a while

We were there on Sept. 21 for lunch. I had the Major Domo's Pie. It was soooo delicious! I got the chocolate mousse for dessert and dh got the creme caramel. Neither of the desserts were great IMO though. We were given a plate of appetizers (no choice) bruschetta rounds, & some garnished meats. Very good as well. The kids menu was fairly standard. The boys got the hot dog, chicken noodle soup, fruit entree and the dd got the grilled chicken & pasta entree.

Here's a photo of the Major Domo's Pie. Poor dh was sooooo motion sick he didn't eat one bite of food. NOTHING. Thank goodness for free dining that day

What is in the dessert trio?

there was a chocolate mousse pyramid ( it was such a shame that it was a one bite thing because it was divine), berries in like a creme fraiche (sp??) and well crud...for the life of me I can't remember the last one. It was right about then that they brought me a cupcake for my birthday. ( Hi, can I please have MORE sugar??) hahaha!! :lmao: I'll see if my DH can remember.... (sorry!!)

When I saw a picture of it there was a Witch's Hat chocolate or something, so I was wondering if that was a candy or what?

I was soooo disappointed when I got there 2 weeks ago and the Cream Cheese Buckle was gone. I really wanted to try that. :sad1:

there wasn't a witches' hat or candy on ours. it was a pyramid kind of thing that was choc mousse. ( maybe they change it up on different nights??)

I think we might end up getting the Beef Tenderloin, and the Pork Chop.
Has anyone had either of these?

For dessert we are just going to get each other chocolate slippers. :lovestruc

How much does it cost to order the chocolate slipper? With the new menu I'm thinking about cancelling this but the slipper is cute. Thanks

I had the tenderloin and it was fantastic. My DH had the pork chop and wished he got the tenderloin. The pork chop was WAY overcooked and dry.

The rock shrimp app was incredible.......

The chocolate slipper is $15 per person. I do not think I will like the other desserts so this is a good option for us. You do have to order it 48 hours in advance though.

Honestly I would cancel too, but the little girl inside me is wanting to go inside the castle, so I must give in lol

I was quoted "$12.50+tax/tip, so roughly $16."

Uggh I really wish they would not have changed it, but now that they have, I need to decide if it is still worth 2 ts, what do you all think?

I don't think it is. :(

LMAO, on a side note, at first glance I thought there was 'cobra' on the menu! :rotfl: CRT now serving snake! (it went from the lakes to the water bottles to CRT!)

Really a tip? I never heard that, I dunno I called and they quoted me 15.50, I thought CRT already got a tip. Well I guess they will love our table lol:rotfl:

The third item was a "puffed pastry" with fruit inside. All the desserts were delicious in the trio; however, please know they are SMALL portions. Plenty after a large meal.....but it's better to know that each of the three items provide 1- 3 bite portions. so have that set in your mind ahead of time. I was kind of surprised, but after eating it realized it was plenty of dessert. :goodvibes
