Booked at Kidani in a,2br savannah view for five nights in April with my best friend and our combined five kids, 5, 5, 7, 11 and 13. First visit for my friend and her girls. The poly is available for our stay. Do you think we should change to two studios or stay put? We have always Bern happy at Kidani but the allure of trying the new resort is compelling.

Savannah views are special, but you know that. Have you checked how your dates relate to the pool construction at the Poly? I would base my answer on what's happening at the pool at the Poly.

You really have to weigh the benefits of the 2 bedroom against Poly and being close to MK.

Are you going to cook? Do you need laundry every day? Do you want to shared space? If yes, then stick with the 2 bedroom.

With all those kids, I'd stock the kitchen with snacks/drinks, and stay at Kidani.

You'd run the risk of not having studios close to each other by booking two studios. A request of two studios in close proximity is not something they can guarantee.

In addition, I do think you should really research the state of construction on Poly at that point. The Dis Unplugged podcast did a recent Poly review about two weeks ago as part of their 7in7 series. You should give it a listen - Pete was of the opinion that the Poly should have been closed during all this construction, that's how intrusive it was. He said he wouldn't recommend staying there until later in the year when some of it was completed.

I would not change for the following reasons:

1. No guarantee to get connectiing rooms at Poly.
2. The Kidani 2BR is much larger and, unlike having two rooms at Poly, the 2BR has a washer/dryer, a kitchen, three bathrooms, and a long balcony for savanna view.
3. Kidani has the elaborate kids water play area and a pool with a long slide. At the moment Poly has no pool. It is supposed to open end of March/early April but no guarantee it will be finished by then.
4. There is a lot of construction going on at Poly, at the pool, the villas, and elsewhere. I would be hestitant to even stay there at all in the next several months
5. Savanna view at Kidani beats standard view anywhere and i doubt the Poly lake views are going to be that great.
6. Two studios at Poly will cost close to (standard view) or more (lake view) than that 2BR at AKV in points.
7. If you have already made restaurant reservations on the basis of staying at AKV, you cannot assume you can now easily change any reservations to something else near Poly or MK.

Thanks for all the sage advice. I know you are all right. The savannah view at kidani is the way to go. We are planning to cook and the washer will be great as will the space. We are at MK for a day and a half. Bussing is good from Kidani. It's the way to go. There is a reason I love it there. May do the poly next year for a few days.
