Change flight times or leave as is ....

Hi all,

I am just looking to get your thoughts and opinions. My family and i will be going to the World in about 2 months from PA and my BFF and her family will be meeting us there the same day from Puerto Rico.

Now here is the issue. They arrive to MCO at 10am but I don't leave PA until 10am make it about a 3 hour wait in the airport for them. She does not want to go to Disney before us because she has never stayed on property and is not sure hiw things work.

Now, should I try to chance my arrival time to earlier if i could swing the cost (total $150) or leave as is and let them wait for us. Truthfully the thought of them waiting 3 hours for us is killing me.

What would you do?

To change your all your tickets will be $150 and not a budget issue, then do it. It would be a sweet thing to do.

Does getting there earlier mean that you have to wait? Does it mean an uncomfortably early flight time for you? I see that you have a little one - does the friend have kids?

If I had to wait in any airport for 3 hours, the Orlando airport is a nice one. Does she have to go through customs from PR? If so, by the time she does, gets a snack, looks through some stores, it might not seem like that bad of a wait.

OR you could convince her to go on the ME and then hang out at the resort.

Waiting should not be too hard for them. They could walk though the shops, sit down and have a bit to eat and then before you know it, you will be there. I would save yourself the $150. What happens if you do shell out the $150 to change your flight plus if the price of earlier flight is more you will have to also pay the difference in flight price on top of the $150 change fee..

Then what happens if you do switch your flight and shell out the additional money and something happens and your flight gets delayed. Then you have shelled out all that money for nothing.

Honestly, I'd tell her it's not rocket science! Go to the ME area, get on the bus, and go to the front desk at the resort to check in.

Yeah it's not much different than checking into a regular hotel.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and replies. Yes the diffrrence in price is only $150 including booking changes. She does not have small kids traveling with her so no problems there.

I just hate the fact USAir is not flexible when using the Companion Certificate

I just hate the fact USAir is not flexible when using the Companion Certificate. They do not make easy on the customer. I will make the switch to SW in future travels.

If flights are available and the extra $$ is not a burden, then I would probably change to make it easier for everyone.

Waiting at MCO for a few hours really shouldn't be too bad. There are so many stores, including Disney Earport and SeaWorld shop, that I'm sure they can browse and the time difference would not be an issue. Are you renting a car? If so, they could get started as that can take some time. Have a fun trip.
