I'm so sorry - I know this has been asked before, but I just can't find it.

My ressie for August is now $10 cheaper - can anyone tell me whether I need to cancel my reservation and make a new one - or can I modify the existing one somehow?

Thank you again for your help :wave2:

I always make a new ressie, then cancel my old one. It just seems much neater and less likely to have problems.

I always make a new one too and cancel the old. I've sometimes cancelled 3 or 4 while the prices went down.

I do the same. Check the rates and if it's lower, book the new rate and cancel the old one. Before our trip in January, I booked and cancelled at least 8 times before we left. We're leaving for California the end of March and I've already booked and cancelled 3 times and will probably do the same thing a few more times. I find that this is a lot easier than trying to modify and existing one.

I'm ahead of you. I think I've cancelled and rebooked 5 or 6. My DH is afraid we will have a fleet of cars waiting for us. :earboy2:

The prices are incredible. I can't believe I'm getting 8 days, for $127. We have never rented a car, and have always used a towncar service. I've always looked into renting, but have never found a good rate for our stay.

Are these prices normal for National, or are they just lower right now?

THank goodness for these boards. :love1:

This is the lowest National has gone in a while. Typically if you check rates on Orbitz, National has been towards the more expensive end. Lately, they have been on the cheaper end.

I wonder if some of it is in response to Disney's Magical Express? A lot of the car rental companies are low right now trying to entice people to rent a car. For people like me, it is great because we will always rent a car for the ease of transportation and the possibility of going off site.

I've paid between $110 and $120 for National on most of my recent trips going back 3 or 4 years. We go early May and early December. That's EA, intermediate, priceless code, $20 entertainment coupon.

Same as the other posters. I cancel my old ressies and make new ones. I too have to admit these are some of the lowest I've EVER seen. Today my May rates dropped again. I'm paying $268 for 16 days (ExA), with a base weekly rate of $110. BUT I have that beat. I changed my September one and am now paying $132 for NINE days with a weekly rate of $101....Then after being impressed my October one dropped even more. I'm paying $181 for TWELVE days with a weekly base rate of......$96. I think it's all related to ME (not me, but Magical Express). Using priceless code and entertainment coupon. I checked tonight and the fall rates have going up slightly from what I got today during the day....wow.

Thanks for the tips everyone!! I made a new ressie and cancelled the old one - our total price is now $143.90 for 8/28/05 to 9/3/05. Price dropped about $10 so far . . . . . dare I hope for a bit more????
