Change agents mid negotiation?

Wondering if anyone ever put in an offer on a contract and start negotiations but not care for the agent that was randomly selected? We’re pretty far off as far as price goes but I’m wondering if it would be a bad idea to let it cool and then submit a new, little higher offer, and select a different agent from that drop down list? I’d appreciate input! Thanks!

I wouldn’t wait. I’d politely ask for another agent, no explanation needed in my opinion. It’s your choice who to work with or not work with!

Yes, this is business, and they are working for you.

I am in a weird situation, selling and buying at same time. The buyer of our old points has taken over 2 weeks to send in their payment, and now we need to delay sending in OUR payment for the new contract. I feel BAD about it, and need to remind myself this is just business, and we will definitely not violate the boundaries in the contract (and neither did our slow buyer). Our sale and purchase WERE only 2 weeks apart, so we knew it would be close.... Argh just writing this makes me feel bad all over again, and all parties know what is going on, good communication.

Anyway, do not feel awkward, this is a business deal.

No need to feel bad in any way as long as you’re writhing the contract rules. Don’t give it another thought!

But would you ask.. or just submit a new online higher offer requesting someone else?

Eek... is that for your closing?

I’d call and ask for someone else then make an offer with the new agent on the phone. I find that making an offer electronically is a waste of time. Plus the new agent will know you’re serious and will actively get you what you want since it’s also $ for them.

Look at it like buying a used car, if you didn't like the service one sales rep is providing would you stay with that person of just find another one? Maybe another broker/agency. It's your money, spend it wisely.

Oddly enough the agent really stepped up all of a sudden! Like out of the blue.. lol, maybe he read this post! Ha
