Chances of Waitlist Coming Through For October??

We just decided this past weekend to do a last-minute (well, sort of) trip to Disney in October over Columbus Day weekend. We are going October 7-13. Our home resort is BCV, which was my first choice. MS checked all resorts for a studio for those days and although BCV had three of the days available, none were together which meant we would be checking in and out each day and moving...not ideal. The only resort with any decent availability was SSR, which we booked and set up two waitlists - one for BCV for a Studio for all nights and one for BWV for a Pool/Garden Studio for all nights. I can't be too upset because this is very late notice and it is F & W season at Epcot, but I'm bummed that I can't stay at BCV. Anybody have any experience with a studio waitlist coming through for this time of year? Any advice you can give me? Thanks in advance....I'm so excited to be going for F & W festival!!!!

I have no idea if your waitlist will come through given your dates are during F&W. I know BWV and BCV are the hardest to come by during F&W. However, a couple things you have going for you:


The economy may make this year’s F&W less attended

You only need six nights as opposed to seven or more


I know you want BWV or BCV due to their proximity to EPCOT but we have done F&W staying at SSR and had a wonderful time. Instead of waiting for buses to get back to SSR after partaking in the festivities we walk out the International Gateway to BWV and have Bell Services hail us a cab. In ten short minutes we are at our Villa at SSR.

We have been waiting for almost 6 months now for our waitlist to come thru for August at the BCV. And although it is our home resort it doesn't look as though we will be getting our wish. It really depends on the time of year and unfortunately October is pretty busy. But the way I look at it any DVC is a good thing so wherever you end up will be great so good luck and have a great vacation.

I don't know about October, but I would consider calling every once in a while to see if anything opens up for some of the nights together.

For my August trip, I called last week to switch the first 4 nights of my trip from AKV to either BLT, BCV, or BWV. They only had 2 of the 4 nights in a SV room at BWV so I took those and WL for BLT, LV for the first 2 nights and BCV for all 4.

I called every day just to see if anything for BWV or BLT, SV or MKV, were available since I could only do the 2 WL.

Well, yesterday, they had the other 2 nights in a BWV, garden/preferred so I was able to transfer all my AKV nights over. Now, I have all 4 nights at BWV (different views, but that is okay since I want to keep the reservations separate--I only want to do the DDP for two nights and this allows for that--the other nights I will do QSDP).

I was able to change my WL for BLT and include both sets of nights. My hope is to really do 3 resorts when we are there (I know, a lot of moving for a week, but my DH is not coming, just me and the kids [20, 16, and 13] and it is a good time to try split stays and the other resorts)--BLT, 2 nights, BWV, 2 nights, and VWL for 4.

We just booked 3 nights plus wait listed for 3 nights in October in either a value 1 br or studio. Our waitlist came thru for a 1 br for all six nights only a week later. Our dats are Oct. 3 to 7th. I have always had good luck with the wait list. When I called a studio at OKW was available, but I decided to wait for either a 1br or a studio at AKV for a change. good luck!

Thank you all for your responses! Well, I called MS today because they did have the first night available at BCV in a studio (the night of the 7th), so I took it. We will move to Saratoga the next day. They did have another night available, but it was right in the middle of the trip and if the other nights don't become available, we will be constantly moving, which we really don't want. So...the nice CM at MS advised me to call often to try to see if any nights become available and add them on a day by day basis...the waitlist may come through, but I think it might be more likely that individual nights become available quicker. So we shall see!!! At the very least, I have one night at BCV!!!!
