I know no one has a crystal ball, but does anyone have any ideas on what the chances are of a wait list coming through for 6 consecutive nights? We have a Studio at BCV from 11/27-12/2, but were hoping for one at VWL (haven't stayed there yet, and really want to!). Only the first night is currently available.

I guess my question is, do "most" folks get their wait list request when put on the list this far in advance? For that time of year? Is there a way to increase our chances, say to go day-by-day, or is that a big, big risk?

Any opinions/experiences you could lend would be helpful to know. Thanks in advance!

We got our waitlist for a VWL 1 bedroom for 12/4 thru 12/8. Good luck!

Going day by day is a risk becuase you could end up with a different resort every other night.

A lot depends on when you made the reservation. Did you do it right as the 7 month window opened or did you just do it. If you just did it, it's not as far in advance as it may seem and you could be down on the list, but still have a chance. If you made it a while ago, you stand an excellent chance.

It seems that waiting lists generally come through but I would still call every once in a while just to check on it and see how things look. Also remember that the list expires at the 30 day mark and you will need to call to keep it going. It then expires at the 7 day mark for good.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of -- and knowing my luck, we really might wind up moving every single day...:teeth:

Excellent point. Actually, we *indecisives* made ressies at our home resort, BWV, at 11 months out. Then, we decided that we just stayed there in May, but had really loved BCV the last time we stayed there, so we switched to there at right about the 7-month mark (in fact, were on the waitlist for only one night, but that did come through within a few weeks). Then, we considered that since we really wanted to stay at BCV again next April for our longer trip, particularly with SAB, we wanted to try something different. That's when we heard (read) others saying that VWL was so beautiful with Christmas decorations, and so last Monday I called and wound up on the wait list. So I guess, to your point, we really may not be all that high up on the list, even though it's stil 5 1/2 months away. Ah, there you go...too many choices did us in. :D Down, but not out, I hope?

Did NOT know that -- thanks for the tip!

And thank you so much for your well wishes! Will definitely keep you posted!

Just wanted to share...we're half-way there! Thought I'd call MS today and see if any more than just the 1st night of our waitlisted 6 nights was available. (Have a studio at BCV 11/27-12/2, but really wanted to try VWL. On the 1st night was available at VWL a while back.)

Well...lo and behold, the first 3 were available! I booked them, figuring a) we'll move for the last 3 nights, or b) we'll have a better chance of 3 remaining consecutive nights coming through at once, rather than all 6!

So, I guess if you're willing to take the chance of having to split your ressie, you can call (without being a pest, of course!;) ) and check on the progress and maybe increase your chances?

Just wanted to share our progress! We're SSSSOOOO excited!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I think you're going to LOVE VWL at Christmastime!

I booked BWV for 8/15-21, a 1 bdrm, at the 11 month window. Well, we start thinking that maybe we might like to go again at Thanksgiving. So, I have to change to a studio for both visits. No standard studios left, since it's now about 7 1/2 months out. But, I have basically what I want. Dh says..."Hey, why don't we stay at VWL for 11/25-12/1!!" So, at the 7 month window, I call and only the last three nights are open. I take them and figure it will be like two mini-vacations. When I called MS two days later to tell them to leave it as is...first 3 nights at BWV, last 3 nights at VWL, they tell me I have all but Thanksgiving day at VWL!!! Okay. I wait about 3 weeks and lo and behold...it came thru. All 6 nights at VWL. So, be patient. Just make sure they know that you want the nights in order not helter skelter. That's how it worked for me. Good luck.
