chances of switching to Poly studio at 7 months

Just updating. I snagged my 2nd waitlisted day this morning in a standard, and my waitlist came through on my first day for a standard a few minutes ago.

So there's definitely some movement on reservations. Maybe you can switch the days you're wanting to go to the Poly for?

Yay, I'm glad your wait list came through!

I have a whole new touring/dining plan based on poly last 3 nights rather than first 3 and it works out better in a couple of ways so I might just shoot for that instead. Hoping to go to the merry member mixer and they have been on monday/tuesday nights in the past, I am able to keep those days flexible and staying at BWV so it would work for it to be an epcot day. But I just can't believe those 3 days I want are the only ones sold out. Christmas is even available too! But if i can't get THOSE days I will have hope. I will update people in about 6 weeks :D

Since Dec 3-6 are sold out and I want to do 7-10 now I can book all 3 days starting on the 6th and maybe people won't be trying for the same days since they can't get the whole week. Also wed, thurs and friday night might be easier to get than sat, sun, mon. I can hope

I don't even understand how those dates can be sold out at Poly right now. Poly is something like 60% declared, but isn't even close to that far sold, and we haven't hit 7 months for your dates yet. Unless some bungalow buyers just totally booked a wing of studios, I guess.

No idea. First lake view went and then standard view went. only dates past the 7 month window taken!

The demand for that one week is huge. Even though the resort has more points declared than sold, if a large portion of the owners want that week, it can easily sell out long before the 7 month window opens. For example, let's say that there are 100 rooms total for the resort and 60 are available to members for each week of the year (declared). So far, let's assume that Members have purchased 20 rooms. 20 rooms times 52 weeks equals potentially 1040 rooms chasing the 60 available for that first week of December. You can easily see how the first week could sell out. Demand is not equal for every week of the year. (The example is very simplified, but the principle is the same).

Good point. Thanks for mathing for me.

Plus. Every single renter of Poly reservations for the 11 month window is looking to book here.

There's no other reason to pay a premium on Poly points. Almost every other time of year can still be had at the 7 month mark with any points.

So add to owner interest ALL the rental interest concentrated here.

yeah at this point I would be willing to rent the points for my stay just to secure it and then I'd have to turn around and rent out my own points to pay for it. But even that is tough, there are almost no poly owners renting right now I think! Oh well. I've been looking into that as well.

I'm just hoping that with stalking and the waitlist I can get (if not poly) one of the MK resorts for dec 7-10. Traveling solo with my 8 year old with ASD it is just SO much easier when I have proximity to a major park. It is not the end of the world, just a lot nicer. Hoping that at the 7 month window there is enough movement somewhere that I can get a studio or even 1 bedroom somewhere close to the MK. I'm holding the whole week at BWV right now. I really wanted to take him for xmas stuff but that is the best week travelwise for me. I kind of wish it was a higher point week, I have the points for the trip, it's just a scheduling (and crowd thing too). We went in September 2014 and it was awesome, stayed at BLT the whole time (I booked the week based on 7 month availability at BLT) but barely did other parks and didn't do them late at night. Now that he is a bit older and can stay up later he LOVES the fireworks but doesn't have much steam after the fireworks for travel. Oh well. First world problems, right? there are 1 bedrooms at BLT and VWL right now too, hoping there is SOMETHING for me when the window opens up in 6 weeks or so!

if anyone still cares, Poly is just about booked for this week... there are a couple of days still free lake view and one day standard but all single days. I actually saw the writing on the wall and put out a call to trade reservations and a very kind Poly owner agreed to swap reservations with me, so my dream "you're only 8 once" extravaganza vacation with my kiddo plans are still intact.

But basically right when the MVMCP dates were released, pretty much all availability still out there at any of the monorail resorts was booked up for those nights. I have the Dec 7-10 booked but if I tried to book it now the 8th (thursday, party day) would be booked for both views. The first half of that week was gone both standard and lake view (my original plan was Dec 3-6) at about 9 months I think, at least some of the days.

just FYI.

it's just that week! not the 2nd week of December, which has similar points. Not Christmas or Thanksgiving or New Year's Eve. JUST that week!
Well, during F&W the 7-month sellout at 8AM was rather pronounced.

standard view was gone at 9 months (except for a day here and there) and lake view gone at 8. I think both saturdays are available and the wed night is available in lake view. that's it! Thank goodness for the pixie dust a poly owner sprinkled on my vacation :)
