I am sailing on the November 6th cruise on the Magic. I was super excited to hear that the Magic was getting Tangled in November. However, to my extreme disappointment, the show starts on the Nov. 11th sailing. By that time, my traveling party had bought plane tickets and was committed to the Nov 6 sailing (believe me, I wanted them to change it....)

What are the chances that they will have dress rehearsals that we can see on our cruise? I am sure they won't put in the regular line up of the shows, but surely, they will have to dress rehearsal it on the boat at least once. Anyone have any tips to see it? I am going to ask on board but is there someone I could ask that would be more "in the know".

I don't recall the last time Disney debuted a new stage show on one of the ships but with the new Frozen Deck Party that was on the summer Magic and Wonder sailings, they did show it to us earlier than the published "official" release date on the EBTA. I'm pretty sure the crew will already be onboard for your sailing so there's a pretty good chance they might surprise you by holding a dress rehearsal on your sailing. If it were me, I wouldn't tell anyone in my traveling party that it might happen so they can be really excited if luck is in your favor and you get a special screening of the show early!

I agree with above poster!!! We were also on the EBTA and they were practicing a few nights up on stage on Deck 9 late at night. I hung around to watch the rehearsals. They were going around and asking people not to take any pictures as it was not a finished product. they they debuted it one evening for all to see.

So you got to see it in the theater?

I hope this happens, we are on the 10/28 Magic Cruise but that might be pushing it to much.

Was on the TA in September and they didn't rule out earlier showings they just kept reitterating that the official release will be the 11th November so I think there is a chance. We couldn't get any previews on our cruise as they didn't pick the sets up til they got back to the US but the sets should be onboard by now so who knows.

I do hope when it is shown that some Dis-ers are kind enough to come here and post some reviews!

I'm on the 10/28 sailing, too and have my finger crossed - you never know! Tangled is my DD4's favorite. There is a fancy chartered TCM cruise immediately following ours - on 11/1 and I'd think maybe they'd want to show it to those people? And then perhaps they'd need try it out on our cruise first?

Can someone who sees the show for the first time (either current cruise or the one on 11/11) please post a review? We are booked on the Magic 12/13 and I am really looking forward to it.

Will this show be replacing another one? We will be on the Magic in Jan and was wondering what shows there will be. Any of them NOT worth seeing? I'm not overly critical of the shows, but I remember a couple from the Fantasy being not great (I think first and last night)

Tangled is replacing Villains Tonight! I think Villains may already be off the ship, because someone posted that their shows (on a recent 5 night Magic cruise) were Twice Charmed; Walt Disney: The Dream Goes On; and Dreams.

Since they need to swap out the sets for Villains/Tangled, and let the new cast get their sea legs while performing, it seems that The Dream Goes On (minimal sets & costumes) may be filling in until the 11th.

Typically the first and last night shows (unless it's Disney's Dreams) are just a "here's what you're going to see onboard this cruise" and "here's what you enjoyed on this cruise" shows. Not real production shows.

That's so exciting! I wasn't a huge Villians fan- my small children def enjoy the nicer side of Disney, and I do to!!

I can't remember if it was the first or last show on the Dream that was super cheasy. I enjoy most shows, but it was the first time on any cruise I had been on that I wished I had done something else instead

The Villians set was swapped out on the most part in Cadiz during dry dock as it was sent to the Dream to be spares. Only a small amount was onboard during the TA so Villians wasn't performed. They mentioned this during the Backstage theatre show as there was extra room onboard backstage and they were explaining that the Tangled set would come onboard once they hit Miami. The last Villians show was on the last European cruise on the Magic but the show is carrying on on the Dream.

I know that, when they swap out a set of performers (they rotate off ship at 3 months I believe), the performers overlap one cruise - both sets of performers are on the ship at the same time...this was the case on my last cruise - so the new performers were on the ship. I watched the "new" Tarzan practicing (a beautiful Tarzan, I must say) around the crew pool area for quite awhile...so it seems they will be on the ship, the question is whether they will perform anywhere you can see them

New performers also came on after dry dock in September so have been on for awhile and the old performers I believe left soon after.
