Chances of MS letting me unborrow points?

I was on a work zoom meeting yesterday and got a call from Member Services. Picked up the call (because obviously DVC is more important than work!) and they called to let me know a waitlist went through and that I would have to borrow points to fulfill the reservation. I hastily to agreed to it, forgetting that I was going to cancel one night off a future trip within this UY if the waitlist went through (bookending a cruise with some DVC stays). I just remembered that I wanted to do that when I logged into my dashboard this morning. Think I could call them to unborrow those points? It's only one night so it's not a big deal, if anything I can just use it as a lessons learned.

they have told me they can easily within the same day. Though I honestly have never tried it or asked. It’s something mentioned to me twice given some circumstances I had on the call where they thought I wanted to. And I might have been lucky with the person trying to pixie dust on the call.

I would say if you are within 24 hours it’s worth calling to see if they will.
