We are staying 1 night at RPR during out holiday to get the Express Pass and plan to spend 25th and 26th at Universal. We did this last year with great success (stated at HRH). So our plan is to check in early and get to rope drop for Harry Potter like everyone else! Last year my son couldn't ride Pteranodon Flyers because he needed another kid but this year my nieces will be there so he can go on. So my question is, if we leave Harry Potter before 9am how do we get around to PF? Not sure if there are seperate rope drops for the different lands. I assumed it gets busy as you cant use your express pass.
Thanks

If you are doing early entry, you won't be able to get to Jurassic park till the rest of the park opens at 9am.Once the park is opened you can head over there.Pteranodon flyers doesnt ever take Express pass because it has a low capacity and doesnt move that many people per hour, which is also WHY there is a height restriction.Unless there is a kid under the height maximum, you can't ride it .This is one of those rides that even with the restrictions, wait times are RIDICULOUS all day

Yep, after our first day standing in line on a very hot day in the afternoon, I told my kid, no way will go again. So, next day, since we were onsite, went to Potterland and then stood at the bridge near JP, then quickly went to the Flyers. The line was not bad at all. Only time I will go on that ride.

So I am just looking on the Universal map and it looks like the bridge is right near HP Hogwarts. Sure I must have walked over it many times but I can't say I have noticed. So we should get out of HP before 9 so shouldn't be a problem. Then for rest of day we have Express pass so don't have to rush.

As soon as you are done with early admission, go line up for the Flyers. That is your best bet. Get there before the rest of the general public does. Just take the exit from Wizarding World past Hogwarts and continue through Jurassic Park until you get to the playground. You'll see the sign for Pteranadon Flyers.

That is our plan this year, we have been going for years and have never gone on the flyers. This year I plan trying our luck with getting there early for WWOHP and then heading over there when the park opens.

So here is my question - DD who is 3 is 40 inches and DD who is 10 is 54 inches. So will both have to have me ride with them?

As far as I know there is only this restriction:Restrictions and access
36 inches; no Express Pass access; guests taller than 56 inches must be accompanied by a guest between 36 inches and 56 inches (in other words, adults need to accompany a kid to go on this ride).

The reason for the restrictions is just to limit the number of people who go on the ride. I would imagine that the whole family can ride as long as there is one person who satisfies the requirements.

They won't let me and DH get in line with just our one son. We would have to borrow a child or wait in line alllll over again to get the second adult to ride.

It's more like an adult must be accompanied by a child.

Your older DD is over 48" and therefore can ride alone on rides whose height req she meets (overall Universal rule) Your younger daughter must ride with an adult because she's smaller than 48".

So I think that your older DD can go alone (or perhaps you'd like to rent the other seat on her flyer to an adult who for some reason wants to go, LOL), and then you ride with your littler daughter.

My son is 12 and 62 inches tall so too tall to ride with an adult. As he is only 12 will he be able to ride with his 6 yer old cousin alone or does a 6 year old have to ride with an adult.
Sorry confused!

Yes, I had my teen son ride with his much smaller 11 year old sister. And yes, if the 6 year old is too short to ride alone, must have an adult or taller kid to ride.

I think it depends on how busy it is at the time. We rode first thing in the morning and we had only one child and we all got to ride.

They limit the riders to keep the line down. Having the kids ride is more important to them than having a bunch of adults ride.

There's a 99.9% chance you won't get on it, but the best time to try is when the park opens.

So is there anyway a "Child Free" couple can get on this ride? It's not like you can ask someone if they have a extra child you could borrow. Any suggestions?

I think if it was a slow time of year, and you went at park opening, you may be able to ride without a child.

However, my DD would be happy to be able to get another ride in, and would not mind being borrowed.:)

They're really strict about it. I've been going to Universal for years and it's the one ride I've never been on.

I am sure there are plenty of kids out there that wouldn't mind being borrowed, so they could go on the ride again. The problem is, how do you ask someone to borrow their child without getting beat up, reported to security, kicked out of the park, or all all three? I have thought about this every year, and every year I come to the same conclusion. It's just not worth it.
