We are going down with our friends and their kids during free dining in Aug (4 adults and 4 kids). All of ADR's have been booked since April and everything seemed to be all set :thumbsup2 . Then another friend (actually she is more a friend of the other family we are going down with) and her family decided to join us which was fine but I let her know we were not going to change our ADR's, so she was going to try to get ADR's at the same restaurants for around the same time. We have booked:
8/15 Ohana's 7:20 pm
8/16 Mama Melrose 4:10 pm
8/17 Boma 8 pm
(just cs 8/18) 8/19 1900 Park Fare 6:20 pm
8/20 Princess Storybook Breakfast 9:00 am and LeCellier 4:40 pm (same day)
8/21 Chef Mickey's 6:50 pm
(then just my family is staying for two extra days with ADR's for Afternoon Tea Garden View Lounge, Cape May and Crystal Palace)

Well, I just spoke to her and it seems her TA is totally clueless :confused3 : (not a Disney specialist--we have always booked through DU and they have been great) she gave her TA our info in June and all the TA managed to book was 4 TS meals (Boma and Princess Breakfast at around the same time) and two of which she has a confirmation # for but does not know which restaurant it is for( one says breakfast with Mickey which you could assume is Chef Mickey's but I know Mickey appears at other breakfasts too). For the other meals the TA just told her to walk in to the restaurant and hope they can fit her family in! Can you believe that especially during free dining. I would hate to see her miss out on some TS restaurants (and also I don't want to mess up our ADR's tagging along and hoping to add 4 people onto our ADR for 8) so I have offered to try and book her ADR's myself. Seeing we leave in 18 days :cool1: I know pickings will be rather slim any suggestions which restaurants we may have luck in getting ADR's for, at this point the priority is just to get them a TS seating does not have to be at the same time or restaurant? Any advice would be appreciated. :goodvibes

Good luck! I have been trying to do the same thing (brother who lives in FL is now going to visit with us, so wanting to change reservations for 5 to reservations for 8, and another part of the week, a SIL is now going to be there for a dinner with us, so had to change from 5 to 9). I've not had the greatest luck.... got my Spoodles reservation changed, could not get O'hanas changed, could not get Cape May changed... Make sure when you call that you DO NOT cancel your original reservation. It seemed like the CM needed to check for a reservation for a total number first, then book that one, and cancel the old one. However, I never did ask if there was anything around the same time for the extra number of people.... Hmm...I'm calling back tomorrow to try that approach!!!

Go ahead and make the call (which I'm sure by now you've already done)- you might be pleasantly surprised. We are going end of August and I keep calling to rearrange stuff and what I want is usually available. I actually had my pick of times at Le Cellier lunch for Sun. Sept. 3 (I know its not dinner- but the appies and desserts are the same, and the steak options are still good!). Good luck! Also, I'd have her check on the other anonomous (sp?) ADRS like the Mickey one. You don't want any bad surprises once you are there!

In off season, we can get last minute ADRs for everything.

People report not being able to get seated at restaurants when walking up to the restaurant itself but if they call WDW DINE, they can get in a lot of the time. I don't know why unless the central reservationists just don't communticate cancellations but I plan to try it!

We have called WDW Dine and walked up. We have been turned away many times at the popular places. As long as the ones who try this are aware it may not work then fine. Even if the crowds are low the TS's seem to be busy.
