What are the chances the FD offer will be extended past 9/29? Anyone with historical information on this??

Thanks!

mousesavers.com posts all the historical data.

However, I wouldn't expect this year to be like the last few years and only time will tell.

They have stated their profits are up slightly in the parks. They have cut back on some discounts, like the 4/3 hasn't been released in a while.

It seems like more and more people are getting pin codes, which would indicate to me, they are targeting that area to get people who have already booked once to book again in the same year.

Also, Disney added a lot more booking categories in the moderate resorts and they seem to have no trouble filling rooms at this point. People who have requested certain areas are now paying for it and have no trouble doing so.

Disney has been saying the last year or so, they are cutting back on discounts.

So I think you will hear it when the rest of us hear it and there is probably no point in speculating until it happens.

Thanks for your insight... :)

I'll go out on a limb and say-It will more than likely be extended again.Economy is still in recovery, housing market very slowly getting back on track, lots of folks still needing jobs, and disposable income still low(for a lot of people),and it WORKS-those of us who may be on the fence about a WDW vacation later this year could very well see FD as the "tipping point".I know it is for our family, and I don't think we're alone.;)

I was on the phone with a CM on Saturday and she told me not to count on the FD for the rest of the year. She said it might but it is not likely. She told me that rooms are filling up and they don't need to offer FD in the fall

I was waiting for it too! :confused3

More than likely, she's saying what she is told to say;We are still a long ways from fall!:goodvibes

Our fingers are crossed it is extended as well. Would love to see FD for December or January.

With all the FD offers of late a lot of people have been afforded the opportunity to go that otherwise could not.

Not many years ago we were the only family who had been to WDW out of so many that we knew. Now days it seems my kids are always coming home saying XXX is away from school in WDW this week.

That is really good to hear! Everyone deserves to see it at least once !

I just got a PIN for FD and it is for the same exact dates as the public offer:confused3
I got excited as it showed the dates I'd be there but that was just for up to 30% of the room which is the offer I already had for it.
We aren't doing dinning if it isn't offered. If it was, I'd pay the extra for the room and save a little on the DP.

we are also planning a big trip this year with kids 20yrs and up and we were hoping dining was offered in nov as this has been the trend for the last 3 yrs when we have gone. we are all adults so FD would be very helpful to us:worship:

I am stalking my inbox and mailbox looking for a PIN offer! I may need therapy! :lmao:

We are going to go ahead and book anyway and if a FD offer does become available then that would be icing on the cake.

I have saved a number of trips on the WDW website, ordered a vacation planning DVD, asked my hubby to also save trips on the website....now we wait...wait....wait....

I would actually be suprised if they didn't offer free dining for the fall.

we have done the same as some others, we booked for late october, and are hoping for free dining. if it comes out at another time, then we will change our dates, and go then. not sure I can afford it without the free dining LOL

I will also be surprised if it's not offered for fall and winter. I know so many people that go those times because of FD and wouldn't go at all without it. Time will tell, last year it was announced in August and same with the year before, so let's see.

None of us can know. It would depend how strong the resort bookings are, and if they need to fill a lot of rooms. I would imagine there will be some promos for at least some time frames in the fall. But it's very possible that the promos may not be as good. For example, we had 40% off room rate pins the last two years (2010 and 2011), and this year, it's only 30%. And it's not just me. If you read the resort forum, the pins that folks are getting are not as good as previous years.

Plus, promos may have more limited time frames. Disney is being more selective as to when discounts can be applied. Last year, FD and room discount pins were blacked out during certain dates (e.g., dates around Columbus Day, dates in mid-October) where special events (such as F&W, MNSSHP, Fall breaks, large conferences) booked enough of the hotels that they did not have to offer discounts. If you see the bounceback offers, they have lots of dates blacked out.

But, I just can't see them maintaining 80%+ occupancy when kids are in school without offering some discounts. So, as long as you are not booking over holidays, fall break, etc., I think you have a good chance of securing at least some discount.

I just booked our October trip last night, and the CM told me I had a PIN for free QS dining. He said it was the first time he's seen that offer and that it must be new. We upgraded to DDP, but it was a nice savings for us since we had already budgeted for the DDP.

Quick question from a newbie - if you already have your vacation booked for the Fall, and free dining *does* become available, how do you take advantage of that? Thanks!!

As soon as the discount is released you need to call in and see if the offer is available for your resort and dates and they can add it to your package if available. Just call!:thumbsup2

Wonderful, thank you! Here's hoping they extend it :)
