I got a PIN in the mail this summer for free dining through December 2009 before it was extended that far but I couldn't use it.
What are the chances of getting another one soon?
Has anyone ever recieved 2 in a year?

It appears the marketing "pins" are random and there is lots of discussion on these boards how or why people get them. In other words, no one really knows how the pins are issued. My personal opinion is that Disney buys lists of potential customers that have opened new credit cards with higher credit limits- but that is just my theory and it may not reflect all the ways Disney tries to market to new customers. Some say you should register for anything Disney, like their vacation CD, their movie club, etc. Good luck. I hope you and me both get pins!!!! BTW, you can always call and see if your pin was extended to 2010 - it's free to ask:thumbsup2!

Well, before February of this year, I had NEVER received even 1 PIN. In Feb. I went to the Disney web site and ordered a vacation planning DVD and priced out a bunch of different vacation packages. About 3 weeks later, I received a 40% PIN by postcard, and after that at least 2 different PINs by e-mail. So yes, you CAN get more than 1 in a year...I don't know if my on-line investigation had anything to do with my receiving PINs or if it was just coincidence, but in general I don't believe in coincidence.;)

HTH!

I received a great pin in the email at the beginning of the year. . . but it was too early for my mom to start thinking of planning our October Disney vacation (of course, it's never too early for ME to start planning!) And then, as a PP said, I had been playing around on the Disney website planning/saving different vacations and about a month ago, I got another pin in my email. I had already booked my trip and almost deleted the email!!! It hung out in my mailbox for awhile and then I realized it actually contained a pin! I called Disney and asked if it could be applied to my trip and lo and behold! We went from free quick serve dining to free table serve at Pop Century! Saved another $150 :thumbsup2

Here's my theory: Disney somehow finds out which dates are the worst possible for us to plan a trip. Then they send us PIN codes for one of those dates!

:lmao: I agree 100%. OR they know we can't afford to go, and send one every year until we finally cave and make a trip! I'm REALLY hoping I can score another PIN for next year. I've always had postcards in my mail, even though I had never been until last spring.

I've had two this year. I used the first one for my September trip - it was for 40% room discount. I just yesterday received another one for room discount. I wonder if it was because I was pricing out some trips for next year on the website and saved them. :confused3 I can tell you I never used to get them until last year. That was after I registered on their website, and ordered custom maps. I haven't opened a new credit card account in about ten years, so don't think that's it for me.

What were the dates on the one you received yesterday? Was it a good room discount?

Mmm, I'm wondering if it was the custom maps? Last year I ordered them as a surprise for my mom, in her name, before our Sept. trip. She got the 40% room pin regular mail early this year which we used on our upcoming 11/29/09trip. I'm so glad we got it. It saved us $2236 for our poly rooms and is even $760 cheaper than changing dates and doing the 4/3. Maybe I'd better order custom maps for me!
