We have a partial booked for 10/31-11/5.

We'll be tent camping

DH and I were talking yesterday and decided that , for a variety of reasons, we might as well add one more day to the end of our trip:goodvibes So I called to add on 11/5. But there was NO availability. I asked if it was because I booked with a discount and the CM said it could be. She said if I booked a separate night I may have to move (which frankly, I wouldn't do, once camp is all taken apart I wouldn't put it back up for just a night) - but even checking that way there was NOTHING.

I am pretty shocked by this - I mean I know the Fort is next to impossible to get during Halloween/Christmas ... but the first Friday in November ?????????:confused3

The CM told me "Oh, the campground is VERY popular and it is often difficult to find openings" ... which is good, in a way, because maybe Disney will realize how much people love it.

Anyway - I am wondering if you think there is any chance of adding a day once there? I thought I'd seen people on the boards saying they had added on, but I am not sure. Thanks.

If you can't get your discount by doing a brand new reservation to include that extra day, then just book for the extra night. I'd be shocked if you needed to move. Halloween is a busy time at the Fort, but most of the big crowds will make a mass exodus on Monday.

I just looked online. If you book from November 3rd - through November 6th at rack rate, you can get a partial hookup site.

Just book that, pay the deposit, then the next day call back and cancel the 3rd and 4th.

Then tell reservations that you want to "link" your original reservation with the new one and request that you keep the same site.

Then a few days before arriving send a fax to Fort Wilderness directly and request that the two reservations are linked and that you keep the same site.

I don't think there's been any one here that has had a problem staying at the same site through multiple reservations.

Are you sure you only want one more night?? As long as you know you will be staying the night of the 5th. You could book two or three additional nights, then prior to check in or at check in, you can take off the days you know you won't be able to stay.

That happened the last time I was there. I booked for like 10 days, but needed to shorten it like 3 nights or something. I didn't have a problem with it, and no penalty because I was still there for the one night out of the reservation.
Just a thought...

We go for a week each year at Halloween. Last year we added a night mid-stay. It's very possible you could be able to add a night once you get there.

We have gone to the Flower & Garden in April/May the past 2 years and ended up adding nights on after we checked in. Just didn't want to go home once we got there :rolleyes1

I think 3 nights is my max for additional nights after check in. I just did not want to break down camp. And it's sooo much nicer there. This is when we lived just 15 miles away.

My trip was initially 10/24-10/28. I was able to add on 10/23 by calling back 2x week and asking. I got it after 3 weeks of trying. That’s my suggestion. Good Luck!!!
