Chances of a cancellation?

This will be our second visit to Disney in October, both times staying at the Contemporary. Last time we could not get into Chef Mickey's for breakfast, (I didn't even know about making ressies ahead of time last time we went,) and when I called to make our dining reservations this time we couldn't get in either. I know the breakfast isn't all that, but staying at the hotel, makes my son want to go there. What are the chances that there will be a cancellation, and what's the best time to call? Should I call right before we go, or check when we get there? I did get the other restaurants I wanted, although the times are a bit later then I intended.

You just never know. I would suggest you keep calling each day or two between now and then because you just never know when someone will cancel a reservation.

I have also heard the tip if you're a party of 3, to call and see if they have anything available for a party of 4. It might open something up for you.

Check on here for an October ADR cancelation/trade thread and list what you need. Keep reading those and perhaps you can get some pixie dust from there.

Then if you get there and still don't have a reservation, also call once you arrive on Disney property and if all else fails attempt to do a walk up - all they can tell you is no.

People cancel all the time so I would keep calling every day up to and including the day you want to go as you never know what might become available :).

Your best shot of getting in would be early. They open at 7:00am. If you really want to eat there then I would be there by 6:45 in line. When I really wanted to go somewhere that's what I do. It usually works for me. Not crazy about the 7:00 am but if you want to then you really don't have a big choice if you can't get in. My opinion. Good Luck! Love Chef Mic's :worship:
