I spoke with MS this morning and we were able to figure out what happened. I want to explain it here as others may run into this problem in the future, though it is not common. I will try to keep it from getting too confusing. Here goes:
I have BWV points. I used those points to book a vacation in Sept. I also used those points along with 100 borrowed points to book an OKW vacation for Jan. This left me with 0 points for my 07 use year. I then canceled my september trip, giving me 110 available points, which I then banked. SO, back to 0 for 2007 points. In December, my sil transfered 72 12/07 ssr points into my account. As far as I knew, I had 72 points available. What I didnt realize was, I made a request 2 weeks before my trip to be near the HH on the first floor as a member in our party has a disability. I also requested be rails for our kids. I emailed this request to MS thinking, maybe I would get it, maybe not. What MS did was rebook my trip, giving me a HH room. When they did this, they used my points, plus the transfered points first, leaving me with 72 borrowed points....now in a holding account since it was considered a canceled trip outside of the cancelation guidelines. I did not know they did this, and no new confirmation was ever sent to me. I did not realize putting in a request for room near the HH at OKW would entail canceling and rebooking the reservation. In any case, they were not able to give me the 72 transfered points back since they used those towards the vacation that had already past.....the points were gone. What they did do was take the points out of my holding account and put them back into my 2008 use year. Those points were previously borrowed points so they basically "unborrowed" the points. I know, its very confusing. I did lose the transfered points, but I do think the did the best they could. The person I spoke to was named Trey (spelling??) and he was extremely nice and helpful. He worked with me on the phone for a long time. He did offer to try to escalate it further and possibly get the transfered points back instead, but I was ok with the outcome so I told him he didnt have to do that. Again, he was very nice, very helpful and very patient. So, for all those reading this, be careful with your requests and make sure its not going to change how your points are used when you make them. I will no longer email requests. Thanks to everyone for your input.
