Chances for BWV?

Our home resort is SSR and we currently have a ressie for 11/5 thru 11/21 in a two bedroom.... We'd like to stay at BWV but we need to wait a couple more weeks before we can find out if it's avaialble.... and the wait is killing me! We've never stayed at BWV so we don't have a clue as to how the availability for 2 bedroom usually is at the 7 month booking window... I know it'll be speculation but was wondering if others have had luck booking a 2 week stay at the 7 month window before?

Thanks

It's possible, but I think you will have to waitlist the first part of your stay and it may not come through.

The first week of November is Jersey Week (NJ schools are not in session 11/4/10 & 11/5/10 and many NJ members take their children out for that entire week to visit WDW). There is a lot of competition for Jersey Week - and of course, it's Food & Wine Festival time at EPCOT.

My advice is to call right at 9 am Eastern on April 5 and see what is available. If you can't get a 7 night reservation, consider doing a split trip and saving the BWV for the latter part of your trip - perhaps spending 11/5 - 11/13 at SSR and 11/13 -11/21 at the BWV.

In my experience, the second week of November is easier to book than the first, and the third week is easier to get than the second. There is usually availability the third week of November at 7 months for those who call promptly at 9 am. You may have to waitlist, though.

My comments apply to the Pool/Garden category. You should certainly try for standard view or Boardwalk view if those categories are of interest to you. However, your chances are much better if you are looking for a Pool/Garden view. If you get SV or BW view at 7 months for Jersey week nights without waitlisting, I will be surprised.

Good luck.

2 weeks will be tough especially since you can only book 7 nights on the first call and will have to call back each day afterwards to add the next 7, one at a time. I've been on the BWV studio standard waitlist since the 9 month window and while I could've gotten a preferred view I decided to wait until the 7 month window to see what's available elsewhere. (WLV, BCV, BLT). Good luck.

After being reminded that not only is that week the last week of Food and Wine, it's also a Federal Holiday (11/11) and Jersey week, so decided to book a preferred studio before the 7 mo. window opens using my BWV points. I'm still waitlisted for a standard (at the 9 mo. window) and there are no BW views available that week either. These are just the studios. I'll try to move when the 7 mo. window opens. Just wondering though, are there any dedicated 2 bedrooms at BWV, or are all of the lock offs? I've only stayed studio and 1 bedroom at the BWV.

I have not stayed at SSR or BWV but those are the two that I am debating between for my trip in september. Any suggestions or tips or input into which is better would be a big help. there will be 3 adults and 3 children. I wanted a treehouse villa but that will not be available for my dates of travel.

If you are looking for standard view or preferred boardwalk view your chances will be slim, otherwise preferred garden or pool view is very often avaialble at 7 months out.

My family loves the BWV. We have stayed at both SSR and BWV and prefer the later. I have 3 small children (1,4,7) and just the size of the BWV and the ease of transportation make it a dream for those of us with double strollers. I am hoping our trip this summer will be the last with that stroller. ;-) The only problem with BWV is there really isn't a counter service place to grab a quick bite to eat. But there are more restaraunts at the BCV a short walk away.

I agree that you will almost certainly be able to get pool/garden view but because you are going in September (one of the easiest times to book DVC) you might even have a shot at standard or BW view if you use the waitlist. I called just last month for our trip at the end of April, got some of the days in a BW view room and the missing days just came through the waitlist a couple of days ago. Good luck!

So if we want to try and get Nov 5th through the 14th we should have a better chance on getting a pool view rather than a BW or standard one at the bwv?

If we call April 5th we will only be able to book the 1st seven nights? How do we get the last two?

Call the next 2 days and each day add another day to your reservation. We stay for 12 nights in May and 12 nights in Oct/Nov, so this is what we have to do to get the longer reservation.

Thank You! Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed to get the resort I want first!

Yes. About 60% of the resort is "preferred view" - and its the worst name possible for those views. They are (generally) perfectly nice views, but most people would either like the "wow!" of the Boardwalk View or save points for the perfectly fine views you get booking standard.

We are just going to call Monday moning and request any level of Studio for BWV and hope something is available. i guess I can't get picky. We are going to need to add 2 more nights to it since they won't let us reserve more than 7 on the day of the 7 month mark. I really hope this is going to work out for the BWV. Both me and DH really want to try it.:yay:

Well I didn't get the the first or second choice I wanted and we called on the very first day possible to reserve!:confused3 We did end up with my third choice which was AKV. That is fine, we have stayed in the AKL for the last 3 trips and we love it there:yay: ... just wanted to try a dif place.

As far as booking went, we did the first 7 nights and then had to call back the next day to add the 8th night and then call the day after that to add the
9th night. It all worked out:banana:!

Why :confused3? The very first possible day to reserve was 12/5/09 when BWV members could reserve at 11 months, that was 4 months ago.

Did you try to waitlist?

Not BWV owners, SSR so we had to wait until the 7 month mark. Didn't want to chance the waitlist because we def are going on those dates and wanted to make sure we got into one of our top 3 choices.

so you book your AKv and then waitlist for your BWV if it comes thru great for you, if not you still have your AKv that is one of the benefits of waitlisting

I agree, you should still waitlist for BWV for the entire time. It doesn't hurt. I just cancelled a BWV studio I had reserved for Nov. 7-12, which might have freed up some days for others who are waitlisted. I managed to switch to a studio at BCV on the 7 month window openning. Either way I knew I was going to be at an EPCOT DVC. Both BWV and BCV are difficult to get during F&W. Better luck next time.

Right. The point I was trying to make was it wasn't the "very first possible day to reserve", others had a 4 month head start which explains why it was not available. You used the confused symbol :confused3, which I took to mean you expected it to be available.
