I recently posted, inquiring if the POLY was worth the etra money. I happened to call and they gave me a rate of $354.00 for a garden view room for 11/4-11/12. My DW and I have not made our decision yet, but assuming we decide to do it, what are the chances of an upgrade to a waterview room?
We are taking our 8 year old DS and it is our anniversary pirate: and the chance to try the Poly is something we want to do, but the waterviews are another $100.00 per night. Thats $800.00. We can't do that. The week we go is regular season, so I do not know if that means there will or will not be rooms in the waterview available.

Is there a chance for the upgrade or they do not do that?

Hi! We ended up buying an AP and got a rate of $254 (I believe) per night for a Garden View room. Honestly, I would never pay that much for a waterview simply because we are NEVER in the room. In fact, we begged for a balcony room and were thrilled to get it - and had a great view (water on the right and the quiet pool in front of us) and we didn't sit on the balcony but one time!!!!!! So, if you are debating this, I would go for a GV. Secondly, ask to be placed in a certain longhouse. For example, they had us originally in Fiji, but we begged for a balcony room in Tokelau and they honored our request - reluctantly - but they did it. We did ask if there were upgrades available and we were told "no". We did not have the most friendly CM at the Poly so maybe if yours has a great personality go for it! Are you working with a travel agent? If so, make sure he/she knows what you prefer and they will add it to your reservation. HTH! By the way, we were in Tokelau and LOVED it - location could not have been better! Good luck!

Last year we booked a GV room at the Poly. When I made the reservation I requested the following: N/S, 3rd floor with balcony, Fiji.

We got Fiji but the room was on the marina side. The room was still considered a garden view room but we had a wonderful view of the marine, volcano pool, Seven Seas lagoon, the Poly dock, the GCH, and the Contemporary.

So, we paid for a GV but got a semi-LV.
