I sent an email to DLP Guest Communications a couple of days ago letting them know that we will be celebrating DD's birthday while we were there and to say that if they could do anything to add any Disney magic it would be appreciated. I also asked if we could have a room by the path to the parks.

I have an email reply today advising that I would need to phone their Guest Care department for special requests and that there may be a small charge for certain requests.

Has anyone had anything like this? Should I call Guest Relations and follow it up? Should I try emailing the Cheyenne direct instead? I am basically asking for a freebie rather than looking to pay for extras so don't want to push my luck! I also suspect that the Cheyenne are probably less likely to put little extras in the room than the higher end hotels are so I'm not going with any great expectations.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't follow it up, but I would phone the hotel a few days before you arrive and ask for the kind of room you're after (ie quiet, ground floor etc) - no harm in dropping into the conversation then that you're there celebrating your DD's birthday :).

I sent a chancer email a few days before we went, but didn't outright ask for anything.

I just said we were coming back because we loved that specific hotel and would be there for the 5th time. I also mentioned that we would be arriving in the evening and hoped that we'd get a nice room. I then dropped in that the reason we were coming was to celebrate dd's birthday and that we were all very excited ;)

We got extras in the room and a lovely view :)

I think if you ask for something outright, they'll expect you to pay - and I've heard it can be very expensive.

Good luck :wizard:

Thanks for the replies.

Do you know where I could find the number for the Cheyenne?

its in our very useful information sticky, under booking and contact information :).
