Chance of upgrade AKL

I would just ask for a room on the Kudu trail. We had a standard room and we had great views of animals. I never expect an upgrade because it's never happened for us.

Exactly what I came here to say. We did the same thing, our only request was Kudu Trail view, and we got a "partially obstructed" savanna view. It was amazing!

OP, there are many "obstructed" savanna view rooms that are considered standard. I recommend requesting Kudu Trail (your only request) and crossing your fingers. I would never book a savanna view room, I couldn't justify the cost. There are so many places to view animals at AKL that you don't NEED a savanna view. Don't get me wrong, it was lovely, but I would've felt exactly the same about the resort without the view.

Bad advice. Nobody should ever think they might get an upgrade. Book room category you are happy with. With 1000s of people checking in daily upgrades are slim to none. With resorts almost at capacity even slimer.
