Has anyone stayed at Champions World Resort? Is it ok for one night? We are arriving on a Sat. night late and checking out early Sun morn to go on property for 7 day stay. Just wanted a clean place to sleep and get ready. Will this fit the bill? Thanks for any information.

It used to be a HoJo. Not sure if the new owners have made any improvements, or if it's still just a lower-end budget motel with a new name.

Since this question is not about a Disney resort, I'll be moving it to the Orlando Area Hotels & Attractions board.

Thanks.

We just stayed there for one night in Feb....but not by our choice.

We were going to stay at the Destiny Palms next door but they got overbooked (we didn't have a reservation either). So we stayed at Champions next door for the night. It was way overpriced for what you can get in the area. Additionally, all the motels in the area generally provide some type of breakfast and they gave nothing. The rooms are big, but the beds are small and uncomfortable and everything is outdated.

I recommend staying next door at the Destiny Palms. They have small rooms, but high end furniture, flat screen tvs, very comfy queen beds (or a king) and a deluxe continental breakfast is included for under $30 bucks! They only have a shower in the bathroom but it is large. I just spent nearly a month at the hotel and everyone was nice to me. They even sent me flowers to the room when I got the flu.

If you stay at either place, 2 tips.
1. If you want some quick pizza, Brunos is a local place that is good and it is right inbetween the 2 hotels.

2. Don't drive the entire way up 192 to get to Disney...it will take forever. Go up a couple lights and turn left onto black lake road (pretty sure that's the name of it...it's the light across from Walgreens. The following light also connects to the backroad as well.). It is the backroad that will take you onto Disney property. It spits you out right at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You can even see the top of Animal Kingdom Lodge when you turn off of 192 onto that road.

I would call the Destiny Palms and ask for the coupon rate $29. Tell them it was recommended by someone who just stayed a month.

Bumping..considering staying here as I can get a great rate. Has anyone stayed here lately? We are looking at the Deluxe sofabed pool room.
