I know this is probably a dimb question but has anyone every brought any champagne with them??? Will be OK on the plane??

I would suggest you purchase the champagne in Florida before getting to port. There are many liquor stores along the way. I have flown with wine before but never champagne, I would be concerned about the pressure. Although I guess it must be able to fly since it is imported from france I don't think it comes by boat..........hmmmmm I don't know.

We have a bottle of Cristal that we want to bring with us. Tooooo expensive to buy another bottle in FL.

Lucky you! I can see why you would want to bring that!!
I would think if you had it wrapped well in your carry on it would be fine. Since the cabin is pressurized. I wouldn't pack it in my checked luggage though.

This might be a stupid question, but how do you keep/get the champagne cold enough to drink by the time you set sail??

This sounds like a great way to start a MAGICal cruise!!:goodvibes

Fill your ice bucket (or bathroom sink)with ice and water and swirl the bottle in it, that is the quickest way to chill wine or champagne

Also, add salt.

Pack some in your bag in a Ziploc. Adding salt to ice water will considerably reduce the temperature of the water and thus your bottle of the good stuff.

We brought a couple of bottles with us in our carry-ons and had no trouble - well, other than the back ache DH had from carrying it! I didn't worry much about it on the plane since they serve it in 1st class, I just figured it would be fine.

We filled the ice bucket (never thought about salt!) as was previously suggested right when we got on board and it was perfect later that evening on our verandah.

Have a wonderful time.

And, since we're on one of my favorite topics (champagne, that is) I would recommend that everyone try Disney's Fairy Tale Cuvee by Iron Horse. It is nothing short of excellent! (Travis and I love it and went through many bottles on our August cruise!)

The Fairy Tale is only produced for Disney and you can only find it on Disney properties. (We actually bought a bottle this weekend at the Contemporary. Only 27.99! Best price yet!)

I'm not a champagne drinker (sorry folks) and the Fairy tale is very good.
Also, the Fess Parker Chardonney is very good. Again, not a chardonney drinker. This one is only available on Disney properties too.

We also loved the Fess Parker and I think went through 2 bottles of it during our cruise! While the particular bottling on the ship is for Disney exclusively, you can get Fess Parker wines in many states, or even better, you could visit the winery!

Similarly, Iron Horse can be found at https://commerce.freerun.com/ironhorsewines/store_1.html

I believe the Fairy Tale is the Classic Vintage Brut with the special label.

And if you like that one, try the Roederer Estate from California. I can get it at Costco of all places for about $20. It got a 90 score from Wine Spectator!

Cheers!

Preferably within walking distance from the Radisson???

I am getting thirsty...

Let's just do it now.......ehehehehhehe
