Anybody know the price per bottle for the champagnes that Disney offers? They are listed on the website as:

Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee
Perrier Jouet
Moet Chandon Dom Perignon
Cristal
Taittingers La Francaise

I know the Fairy Tale Cuvee is $62 a bottle but any clue about the rest of them? Thanks in advance!

We got to taste the fairytale cuvee and found it kind of bitter. We asked if they had something cheaper and were told we could have the house brand (I still have a bottle of it from our reception on my bar waiting for our 1st anniversary). It was $40/bottle and tastes so much better than the iron horse cuvee.

I found all of them on the Victoria & Albert's wine list. I am wondering if the prices are comparable? The reason I ask is because the Fairy Tale Cuvee on their menu is listed at $62 a bottle as well.

Any idea whether you can order any of these champagnes for your wedding, not just the ones listed on the Disney Weddings Website? I'm assuming if they have them stocked at V&A's then it probably wouldn't be too difficult to have them transported to our wedding at the GF?

:confused3

Any additional input is much appreciated!

I don't know their prices but Dom and Cristal are VERY PRICEY!! I mean ridiculous prices like $100+ per bottle for Dom and $300+ for Cristal. And those are regular retail prices I'm quoting, not disney prices which are so much higher.

The iron horse is DFTWs signature champagne but I find it tastes very dry. I love champagne and sparkling wine so I know exactly what I like and after having the Iron horse cuvee at a food and wine fest event I knew I didn't want it at my wedding. The house sparkling wine was very good and less expensive.

I'm sure DFTWs can get you any liquor or brand of champagne you want even if they don't normally stock it.

My dad is not a sparkling wine fan, but that's all that was listed in the planning packet, so I was wondering about the other champagnes. Just trying to ballpark some prices for him. I just assumed that maybe the restaurant menu prices are comparable?

You know how Disney marks up everything so if you found a price from a wine list I'm sure the DFTWs price would be comparable. Just remember that DFTWs prices seem to be higher than regular Disney prices so expect a mark up of 10-20%.

Good to know! Thanks!

The Martinelli's Sparkling Cider is $30 with tax per bottle - so I'm sure the alcohol will be a good bit more.

Here's the Grand Floridian's Wine List—it shows the price for Dom Perignon, at least. And maybe if you know the retail for some of the other brands, it will give you an idea of Disney's markup:

if you want a sweeter champagne, stay away from anything labeled "brut". look for the ones labeled "extra dry". i know it doesn't make sense, but those are the sweeter champagnes. you might also look into a prosecco, an italian sparkling wine. it's usually sweeter (and cheaper!) you would definitely want to stay away from anything like cristal or dom (besides the extraordinary cost) because they tend to be very dry. and cristal isn't even that great, they've just got a lot of exposure from the music industry. dom is very good, depending on vintage, but it also tends to be quite dry, which a lot of people prefer.

My planner mentioned serving half glasses to get more bang for your buck. she said that many people take a sip for the toast and then leave the rest, so serving smaller amounts will make the bottle serve more people.

Did you taste the cuvee at your planning session/menu tasting? I would love to taste their champagne before we have to pick which one we want. Did you let them know in advance that you were interested in tasting it?

No, we got to taste it at a Food & Wine festival event we bought tickets to in Oct. 2009. I'm sure you can ask your planner if you can taste it. I haven't heard of it happening but the worst they could say is no lol.

My planner emailed me back about the champagnes that they carry, and told me that they can pretty much get anything we want as long as we give them enough notice. Just thought I would post this in case anyone else was curious about it!

We needed to have a bottle of Mead for our ceremony and Tanis said they could special order it, I went to the liquor store to check prices and then I realized the markup was crazy!!!

We just brought our own! :rotfl:

And we also poured half glasses for our guests, it worked out fine! :thumbsup2
