I want to get a Chamilia snap bracelet, but I don't know what size to get. I'm looking to get one online. Do you get one based on your regular bracelet size or do you need to get it bigger to allow for the width of all of the beads?

I think you need to be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the bracelet to allow for beads etc....I was wondering the same thing :thumbsup2
We have a 'new' Pandora in our local Mall I might go see what they say.;)

I was just wondering the same thing so I looked it up and on the website they suggest you measure your wrist and add 3/4". I had never heard of these bracelets before and now I'm dying to get one!

Oops. Guess mine's about an inch and a half too big, then. Course, when I bought it last summer, I weighed 67lbs. more, so that might explain it, too.

Seriously, though, having the bracelet too long has made it catch on things and at one point pop open and drop on the floor after it got caught on a flat while I moved scenery. So you may want to try one on in person first, even if you intend to buy online.

We ordered from this site http://www.chamilia.net/ at Christmas and were very pleased. There's a section on how to measure. We bought the bracelet, 3 charms and 2 locks. If you spend so much you get a free glass bead and some other goodies. I would order from them again....and probably will soon!

The more beads you put on your bracelet, the closer your bracelet will fit to your wrist. I started out buying 7.5 inch bracelets - which fit nicely with just a few beads. When the bracelet got full of beads, it fit very close to my wrist. I now buy the 7.9 inch bracelets, which fits perfectly when it is full of beads. Also, the fuller the bracelet is with beads, the harder it is for me to get the clasp to shut.

Your best bet is to try a bracelet on alot of the shops will let you try bracelets full of beads as well as full of beads and large glass beads then you'll know what size to buy. I'd say as a general rule you should be able to fit 1-2 finger between your wrist and empty bracelet. Also remember once full these bracelets do stretch a little bit over time.

I bought DD18 and her BFF one for their matching graduation gifts then I went yesterday and bought DD a little boy charm for hers for her DS7months to give her for her b-day in about 1 1/2 weeks. I got her the regular size but it was too big and had to go back and get the smaller one.

A full bracelet will fit very differently than a partially filled one.

I am very small with tiny wrists (like 5.5 inches). Both of my full bracelets are 7.1 inches long. I actually started out with one of the smallest, but it was far too tight after adding a few charms. Now both of mine are completely full, and I can just slip a finger between the bracelet and my wrist. It really is amazing how much room the beads (especially the glass ones) take up. I would say to add 1.5 inches. I personally do not think .75 inches is nearly enough extra.

Be careful of these things. They are an addiction.
