Chakrandi chicken shop

First, I'm sorry if this is old news. I've tried search (!) for several days and get the too busy, try again. Anyway, Deb's site states that the Chakrandi is closed as of 6/06. Anyone know what is going on? This is one of my favorites and hope it is temporary.

I could be wrong, and usually am, but I think they are building a new TS and CS to match the EE theme.

Where exactly was this place? I saw people eating food from there, but never noticed it.

It was across from the entrance to Kali River Rapids and I think easy to miss. The Thai Beef Salad was excellent and I hope it will be back.

I didn't realize that Chakrandi was going to be a casualty of the new Landry's restaurant and eatery being build. That's a shame. We loved the wontons.

I sure hope that the new restaurant serves something resembling decent food. AK needs at least one good TS restaurant.

Its a Landry's, what are the chances it serves decent food.....

They are replacing this restaurant with a new TS.....I just found out yesterday while at AK. The whole area is blocked off with those disney walls that say something like, please excuse us while we refurbish this area for your future enjoyment, or something like that.

Landry's runs the Rainforest Cafe chain. This one is essentially going to be "Rainforest Cafe meets Asia" or something like that, supposedly.

disney needs their OWN TS restaurant in that park, badly. I have nothing against RC, and have eaten at the AK one before and liked it, I really prefer sticking with an actual Disney experience at Disney.
