Did you ever get any as kids, did you break the chain. I never did but my sister got a couple, I remember my dad saying its stupid throw it away, but my mom would yell at him"Bob its part of the fun of being a kid" and she would help my sister mail them off, LOL

I got a few, when I was young. They were treated the same as all the FB posts that say, "I dare you to share.", "Only my real friends will share this.", "Christians will share this." or any other nonsense that attempts to manipulate people into sharing a post. They get a big eyeroll & ignore from me. The letters went straight in the trash.

No different than the FB posts going around at Christmas, asking women to send something to one person and you’d get many in return. Cant believe people actually fall for that.

I don’t recall ever getting one, but if I had, I wouldn’t have continued the chain. I am superstitious about some things but not chain letters.

I got them as a kid. Broke some and didn't break others
Did some as an adult too.....loved the recipe ones. Haven't done any in many years now. Postage is too expensive now

I got one way back in the spring of 1965.
If you don't send this letter to 10 people and pay the person that sent it to you $10, the Browns will not win another championship in your lifetime.

I decided the letter was full of it, didn't pay, and didn't send it to anyone.

I got a few where you were supposed to send some specific item to the person at the top of the list, add your name to the bottom and send the letter it to 10 more people. One was from my cousin's wife. It said if you send one pair of underwear to the person at the top, you would eventually get 10 from other people. You were also supposed to add your underwear size. I couldn't stop laughing! Who wants underwear from random people?

Actually, I've received more as an adult that child (that I remember). I responded to one just that one time - never received a thing!! Since then they go straight in the trash - friends or no. Have never been asked about them. Just received my latest a couple months ago - usually involves recipes, towels, children's books, etc.
They always say, "it'll be fun to hear the different areas that reply to you" ---blah, blah, blah - sorry, but not sorry!
