We're about to leave in 2 days for a long road trip. Leaving from Texas to Indiana with a 1 night stay travelling. Then from Indiana to Florida with an expected 2 night stay travelling. Then from Florida to Texas again with another 1 night stay travelling.

Are there any chain hotels offering specials for staying with them?? I checked the comfort inn special, and it's three consecutive nights, which this wouldn't work out. It would be nice to have a free night on the trip back to Texas.

No, but if you use Priceline, you'll pay less for all 3 nights than one booked conventionally. Hampton Inns, Comfort Suites, are examples of 2 * kinds of places along the interstate. Maybe 30 bucks a night.

how far in advance do I need to make the ressies?? I just don't know where we're gonna end up for the night. I pull a lot more miles than my aunt, so we're probably not gonna be where she thinks we will be. But if we bring the laptop, at dinner time I can make a better estimate, and do the ressie for that night.

It would be nice if there was some sort of reward card or something I could get at the first hotel, then by the end of the trip, have a free night. And I don't mean a credit card, just a frequent visitor card kind of thing.

Sign up for the frequent guest program online of whatever chain you like then. Most likely you won't get a free night on this trip though. Pick up the interstate traveler books at gas stations along the way. They have coupon offers for rooms not prebooked-if there is space.
