My DH and I are pretty plain when it comes to our food. We really do not like trying new foods and pretty much stick with the meat and potatoes type of comfort food dishes. I would love to see the fireworks from CG on my next trip but looked at the menu and did not really find much that I or my DH would like to eat.

My question is...are you allowed to make a ADR for CG during the fireworks and just have desert?

We always eat at the CA Grill but we do so because we LOVE the food. We usually eat at the bar after the fireworks or at a table very early in the evening. If I didn't love the food I really would see no reason to eat there at all, the view for the fireworks is much better inside the Magic Kingdom. That being said, if you want to make a reservation and just eat desert there is nothing stopping you from doing so. You might want to try it for dinner you might find you like it!
