CG Sushi Question

Forgive my sushi ignorance but the white paper is soy and that doesnt have much flavor? The greenish black is the seaweed right? That is what we had on one of our rolls (locally) and I didnt like it at all.

I think the soy might be the way to go

And Nori is seaweed right?

I so want to be a sushi lover but I am still apprehensive about it

Yes, Nori is seaweed & is dark green in color.

A safe way to venture into the wonderful world of sushi is trying simple cooked things that are familiar to you. Also, don't be afraid to ask for things with or without certain ingredients.

While it's not on the CG menu any longer, they will still make a shrimp tempura roll if you ask for it. Kona sushi bar also does one that they drizzle with lilikoi sauce... YUMMO! But it is on the sweet side - shrimp tempura & mango wrapped in the white soy paper plus the sauce.

Also, I suggest you stay away from supermarket sushi (pre-packaged) until you acquire a taste. Usually those things are enough to satisfy a craving but do no justice at all to what good quality sushi can be.
