I just cancelled Narcoossee's I got CG, I loved the food at Narcoossee's but figured this year for Christmas Eve try something different, do you think I did the right thing?:santa:

We just ate at both last week.

We really wanted to love the CG but didn't. Our service was just terrible. Trust me, I don't complain much. Food was just okay.

Narcoossee's just blew us away! We loved the open kitchen and had great conversation with the staff. Service was truly 5 star! Food was out of this world and watching wishes from the porch was much better then the CG.

Just our opinions though....

CG we were a party of 11 ( 9 adults and 2 children)
Narc. we were a party of 6

But really, whatever you decide will be great!!!!
For us, we will never return to the CG~

We liked Narcoosees and California Grill. We have only been to both places, just once in Oct. 2009 so I can't comment on all the food... but our food at California Grill was very good. Narcoosees' food was good but not nothing to rave about.

We liked Narcoosees' set up better -- nice walkway around the restaurant overlooking the lagoon and view of the castle (from outside). Plus the Grand Floridian lobby is very nice. I don't like anything about the Contemporary -- it seems very plain and boring to me. California Grill was noisy and we didn't think much of the view -- you only see MK from one side of the restaurant and the observation deck is just ugly cement. It is up high if you want a birds' eye view of MK. By the way, California Grill has the open kitchen, not Narcoosees - not that it matters...

Neither are tops for me but the sushi at CG gives it an edge over Narcoosees.

If I had to pick between Narcoossee's and California Grill, I'd pick the CG without hesitation. Narcoossee's is a fine restaurant, but the CG, in my opinion, is just exceptional. I had a good meal at Narcoossee's, but I've had consistently excellent cullinary experiences and service at CG. But, in reality, you're a winner either way. You're delima involves two of the best restaurants at WDW! :thumbsup2

They are both great. We love them both and go to both.

We've always had fantastic food at CG -- and usually good service. We've only had fantastic service at Narcoossee's, and usually good food.

I think you'll find the food at CG excellent -- but you might need to adjust service expectations relative to Narcoossee's. Oddly, when we eat in the CG lounge (there's only two of us and this is often a good, available option) we get outstanding service. At the actual tables is where we've been underwhelmed. Go figure. :confused3

All things considered, I think you did the right thing. CG has the better menu (certainly the better appetizers) and we've found service at Narcoossee's to be rather on the "indifferent" side.

hi
I know this will sound strange but I know that when I went at the Comptemporary this sept ate at the CS and they where :scared1:birds I for one ( I know they are only small birds ) I'm scare beyond explaining so is there any birds there because as much as I want to try it next trip if birds are there I will not ..
somebody told me that at chef mickey they have seen some :confused3
thanks

Good choice in switching. Hopefully CG will still have the Ostrich Entree. TOP NOTCH!! If you do not haveany kids in your group ask for the wine room.

Both are great, but we definitely prefer CG. The food is good at both places and locale is great. The menu at CG is broader, but the dining room at Narcoossee's is more intimate. Hope you enjoy.
