CG in Fort Myers FL - anyone with experience?

Cross posting from another forum I'm on since I haven't had any responses yet...hopefully some of my DIS friends have some experiece???

Hi All,

My parents live in Fort Myers and we're thinking about going down for Christmas this year with the camper...so I thought I'd start poking around at options.

There are a couple of CGs near them that look promising:
WP Franklin (a Corps of Engineers CG)

Or Seminole Campground

From what I'm able to glean from web reviews, Seminole recently changed hands and has improved since past years. We'd normally favor a COE, but I'm wondering if it is pretty wide open, whereas there looks to be some nice tree cover at Seminole.

My parents have never been to either since they're so close to home, so I'm looking for some BTDT thoughts from anyone here.

Also, wondering if it would be worthwhile to haul along our kayaks or rent locally for a day or so.

Any thoughts or experience would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I ended up finding Koreshan State Park, which looks up our alley, so I booked a few days there then the remainder will be at Seminole since it is the closest to my parents.
